This cookbook is great! I've already made several recipes from it and have enjoyed the way the recipes are displayed, especially the pictures of not only the recipes themselves, but also the "how-to" instructions. I have already ordered another book to be sent to my Mom. She receives the Taste of Home Magazine but can't wait to add this cookbook to her collection, since so many recipes are all in one place and she won't have to search through different magazines to find her favorite ones. The 3-ring binder is easy to use (and keep clean) because you can slip the recipe out from the book and keep it nearby when gathering your ingredients and making your dish. Also, the contents and tabs make it a cinch to find just what you're looking for. This is one great cookbook I know I will be using many, many times and I am thrilled to have purchased it.Book Review: truly the best cookbook

I received this cookbook a few weeks ago as a bridal shower gift. I am getting married in September, and I am not the best of cooks, but I am trying to learn. I can cook basic things (e.g. stir fry) and follow recipes. Luckily, my fiance is an awesome cook, but both he and I were sick of complicated recipes that involved too many pots and pans (we don't have a dishwasher) and too many one-time-use grocery purchases. (Like clam juice or mustard seed.) This cookbook is amazing. Every recipe we have tried has turned out and tasted FABULOUS. Most of the recipes are quite simple and use things that we already have or would buy anyway. The cookbook also has great, simple tips on cooking techniques and food information. I ordered this cookbook as a wedding gift for a young woman who doesn't know much about cooking. The reason for choosing this cookbook over others is the reputation of Taste of Home magazine and it's recipes.
The book arrived and now I want a copy of my own. And I've been cooking for over 60 years. I lust for this book.
It's a perfect combination of information for new cooks, mouth watering pictures, and yummy sounding recipes that the more experienced cook would like to try. And it does all this in the TOH special down-to-earth style. Not snooty and above the rest of us as some cookbooks tend to be.
I highly recommend this book for young folks starting out on their own. Whether in marriage, career, or some combination. A perfect first cookbook.

Bought two of these books, one for myself and one for my daughter. I am a collector of cookbooks and have always been a fan of the Taste of Home products....this is a fantastic book, it is very well put together and full of "must tries"...I really feel that you can't go wrong with any publication from Taste of Home, whether its one of the cookbook publications or the magazine...I have yet in the 10+ years that I have been exposed to Taste of Home that I made a recipe that wasn't top notch. Another plus with this book is that it is filled with beautiful photgraphs depicting the recipes which is very helpful to beginning cooks such as my daughter who only wants "Picture Books". Overall very pleased with this outstanding cookbook and I highly reccomend it.Book Review: an excellent cookbook staple

This is a very nice BIG cookbook. And I especially liked that by buying it I also got a free year subscription to Taste Of Home magazine. What a plus! I always like a good deal. And while this is a great book, it isn't quite as ultra basic as my big Betty Crocker cookbook. I found a delicious recipe for white chili in here. Loved it! But I couldn't even find a recipe for meatloaf. Yes, ppl still makes those and I like to try making different recipes with everything. I am an avid cookbook collector, though, and this is a great addition to my collection. You can't ever go wrong with T.O.H. As one of my friends recently said, everything from TOH always tastes good.
