Book Reviews of The Space Between Us: A Novel (P.S.)Book Review: Excellent Summary: 5 Stars
This book gave the reader great insight into the culture of India through its realistic characters and wonderful story. The main characters were so well-developed that I felt as if they were my close friends. Also the book was beautifully sritten, with so many poetic passages that I just wanted to read out loud to someone else.
Book Review: Enlightening... Summary: 5 Stars
Great book about the difference between cultures and how the wealthy treat their help...makes you think.
The main character had no money or self-esteem...typical of the social class she was in. I was upset how the upper class treated the lower class so poorly and didn't even realize how terrible their lives were.
Book Review: beautiful writing! Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this book. Although sometimes disturbing or unsettling I found the writing so beautiful I could have continued reading this story forever. I know nothing of India or it's culture, but hope I have learned something from this book. If nothing else, I know I would like to read more from this author.
Book Review: Liberation Summary: 5 Stars
Two women from completely different circumstances share equally weighted chains --one of poverty and the other of abuse. Both find accidental liberation. This is a very powerful novel that explores the desperate emotions that only the victimized could feel as well as the appreciation of unexpected freedom.
Book Review: In the top 10 Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this book. I love books about India. Seems like there are an inordinately large amount of quality Indian writers writing about India these days. While, at times, depressing, the interreaction between characters, the depiction of modern India, the pathos of the story made this a winner for me.
