Book Reviews of The Shell SeekersBook Review: an excellent book Summary: 5 Stars
I am a huge fan of Rosamunde Pilcher. Her books are heartwarming and soothing, making you want to curl up with a cup of tea and read until the book is finished! "The Shell Seekers" is my favorite, but anything she has written is great! If you like stories that take you back in time, about love lost, a life fully lived, then this book is for you. It makes you wish you could go to England, ESPECIALLY Cornwall! She writes with such detail you feel like you are there, watching over the shoulders of the characters. A great read which comes highly recommended by me.
Book Review: Absolutely incredible... Summary: 5 Stars
I found this book while rifling through my best friend's library. As an avid reader of the classics, I was amused to find what I thought to be a romance novel hidden away in the back for no one to find. Little did I know what I was getting myself into. What a truly entrancing book. Ms. Pilcher's writing made me feel as though I was standing right next to Penelope as we went through her sad yet wonderful life. This is more than just a "vacation read", it is a book I want to have around for my daughter to discover some day.
Book Review: Five Stars is NOT Enough! The best book by far. Summary: 5 Stars
This was truly the best novel I've read. I was totally absorbed in this story and all of the characters. Pilcher's descriptive writing makes you feel you are there. You see what is written. You smell the smells and hear the sounds. You definitely feel what is going on. I don't think I ever loved a character more than Penelope. I couldn't put this down, yet I never wanted it to end. I wish these people were real so I could sit with them and learn more about their lives. Thank you Rosamunde for making me love your story!
Book Review: All time Favorite Summary: 5 Stars
I read this book in the late 1980s and loved it. I went on to read all of Rosamunde Pilcher's work. The Shell Seekers is an all time favorite. When I think of it I think of pulling on a well loved soft sweater on chilly day or sipping a flavored tea on a gray afternoon. It is a just a wonderful read. I think I am going to read it again - almost 20 years later and I'm sure it will bring the same joy. I hightly and often recommend "The Shell Seekers".
Book Review: life life people Summary: 5 Stars
i hated to finish this book as i was sadly relating to most of the characters who are drawn from real life.as the parent ages the children circle in for the remains. not many writers tell of this time of life...but it is so true.only the author draws each person deeply to relate and the story goes on to the final end......wonderful wonderful...take the time to read it.........
