Book Review: The Secret is Out!

Many have criticized "The Secret" for being the marketing dynamo that it is, both the movie and the book. Yet how else can we change the world if the simple message that our beliefs and feelings create the reality we experience is kept as an underground, non-traditional outlook? The world needs to wake up and it needs to wake up fast. "The Secret" has been able to reach mainstream thinkers from many walks of life who otherwise may never have been exposed to the ideas it contains, at least not anytime soon. I see this wave of "new thought" sweeping the planet and I want to cheer it on.
I've known about this so-called "secret" for a long time. What I like about the book is that it will no longer be a secret. Not that it ever was. It's just that the status quo tended to squash this kind of self-empowered thinking wherever it popped up in the past, so those who believed it were forced to keep quiet and form secret alliances. The wisdom of the secret is threatening to those who wield power over others and don't want to lose it. Their day is coming to an end, thanks in part to the social internet, but also due to the rising popularity of self-empowered thought.
This book is somewhat like a divination oracle. Due to the well-spaced lay-out and inserted quotes, you don't necessarily have to sit down and read it. You can just open it to any page and find something useful to ponder. I find that usually the page opens to something that is relevantly meaningful for me at that particular time.
Aside from the content, the book itself is attractive and artistically designed, with pages that resemble old parchment in color and design, but with a smooth-finish texture. The hardcover and dustjacket carry this theme out, including the red wax "seal" that is embossed on the front cover and book title. Its small size makes it appear even more "precious", not to be mistaken for some boring text that must be waded through with concentrated effort, but rather a handy reference that can easily be toted wherever one might wish to go.
I enjoy this book for its beauty and reminders, although for me, the content was not new or secret. I recommend it particularly for seekers of greater happiness who may be just beginning to explore the possibilites that exist with an expanded consciousness.
Book Review: The Secret Does Work!

This book is great and I recommend it to everyone who has a open mind and understands the principles of the secret already from reading other books like this one.
I have used the secret for many years without knowing it is called "The Secret". I read the magick of believing years ago and practiced what was written and it is pretty much the same as what is in the secret.
The key is to always think positive and if you want something in your life, act like you already have it.
I cured myself of bronchitis. I used to get it every year. I told people that I get it every year around halloween. And guess what! Right on the month every year I had bronchitis. So, I started telling people that I never suffer or get bronchitis anymore. People would tell me that yes I do and I would change it to no I do not. I have not suffered from bronchitis for 10 years now. When you talk negatively, like I hurt so bad, I suffer from this or that, Nothing goes right for me ever, I can never hold a job and guess what! All those things will be true for you. Its hard to change your mind set. But you need to think and say, everything goes right for me, I always get hired on the spot every time I go to a job interview, I never hurt, I never get sick, Cancer cannot live in my body, and the list goes on and on.
I used the secret for fun with my kids with parking places. I say, I will have a front parking place when we get to so and so's. It took a couple of months to get 90% right on. The black friday sales, day after thanksgiving I had a front parking place everywhere I went. No joke. It's fun for me and the kids to see where our parking place is.
Anyway, if you can change negative to a positive thought, you will work magick. Some affirmations work fast and some take years. Like in High School, I always told everyone I wanted to live on a certain street, because I liked the homes there. Years later when I got married, we applied for 14 different homes and got turned down for all 14. I wanted to give up, but my husband said one more time. We found a home for sale on the street I have always wanted to live on when I was in high school. We applied and we were approved! and I still live in this home on this street!
It works if you put your mind to it.
Book Review: The Secret

I ordered the book form as a tool to the The Secret on DVD. The book offers more information, tools and examples useful in learning, studying the Law of Attraction which I have known about for years, but at that given time I was not able to locate(years ago)the information necessary for me to fully understand it and how to apply it. The book is excellent and very useful. It is very well written, and I read it often for continued inspiration and helping to stay focused on my desires for myself in the present. And, with the additional tools and information in the book, in conjuction with the DVD "out of nowhere and out of noway" my desires are slowing manifesting themselves with as "coinidences" showing up to affirm I on track, my desires are waiting , guidance for the footwork, faith in the process as it continues in my life, etc. I believed in the The Secret as viewed on the DVD which is very inspirational, believed it for me based on my existing study and belief of Univeral Laws and Bachelors Degree field of science; however, the book gave me further understanding, information, more tools to get going and useful to reread and reread along with the DVD daily. I strongly recommended the book. Written with clarity, inspiration ,and the book is written not long in length which can be easily read in one setting.
Rhonda Byrne has done an excellent job of carrying the message of what she has been freely, and the gifts she has received as a result of The Secret. And, offered more in the book of her journey. Rhonda Byrne is someone as in the book and DVD, I trust her truth, journey as written because her sincerity and passion to carry the message to others which she herself experienced based on The Secret. There is nothing about the book I do not believe based on my personal years of experience, in addition, there is nothing to warrant but the truth in the book as written by Rhonda Byrne. It is not misleading, but based on those of the past and present people who understood the The Secret which I recognized already on my spiritual journey years ago and present. Hats off to a well written book, a spiritual way of living by Rhonda Byrne. She has my upmost respect for her dedication in this book, and hopefully more in the future. Thank you for your gift Rhonda Byrne and sharing.
Book Review: A Doctor's Confession.... "The Secret" inspired me!

I am so loving, happy, and grateful that this groundbreaking movie was put together by these true champions of information! After viewing "The Secret," everything that I've researched from a scientific and spiritual perspective immediately clicked. I was instantly inspired! Actually, I've been inspired by the powerful messeges in the film ever since. After viewing the movie, it then became apparent that I needed to evaluate my current paradigms along with my conscious and subconscious way of thinking! I took massive and immediate action and assumed all responsibility for my previous, habituated way of thinking. Then, I began to remove all resistance out of my life and create empowering paradigms and relationships by using tips and powerful insight from "The Secret." For instance, when I first get up in the morning, I rattle through everything that I'm grateful for and create my day as it was intended. I speak, focus, and visualize positive things into form on a daily basis. I also listen to James Ray's "Science of Success System" in the car and everywhere I go, driving the empowering material deep into my subconscious.
I cannot even begin to tell you how fast my intentions and visualizations are manifesting presently! I was able to write my first best-selling book within two months after viewing the movie! The words and ideas for the book just kept flowing unlike anything I ever experienced before. My practice has exploded in patient volume and financial collections in the last several months as well! I'm constantly attracting powerful business partnerships at a very fast pace and now have several streams of revenue. I am continuously drawing abundance and prosperity into my life and I'm convinced that coincidence is simply attractor energy working in my favor!
I am definitely more aligned with our universal creative source, through which all life comes into being, after watching this movie. I am a very spiritual person in general but I am further enlightened after connecting with these teachers of the secret, James Ray in particular. I have never felt so much gratitude, joy, peace, and happiness as I do today! This movie is an ablolute must!.

Book Review: Secret or Not

1.This book is very good as it spells out tools to be positive and successful. It is not, and should not be considered, a spiritual book though. As many reviews state, the so-called secret has been mentioned in many important places, bible, sayings, sages, etc, for a long time. But what makes The Secret, this book, important is that the author chose the right time to paraphrase an important equation in the language of the 21st century, and with the marketing that accompanies such an effort. It undoubtedly has helped many people in many ways, and if only for that it is highly commendable. Notice I write "equation", I do not believe the so-called Law of Attraction is a Law per se, as Karma, for example, is.
2.In early/mid 1900s you had masters of this same approach here in the USA, especially Emmet Fox, from whom I think I read everything long ago, and then the one and only Florence Scovell Shinn, check out this last author "The Wisdom of Florence Scovell Shinn" and you will see what I mean, regarding the law of attraction, so on and so forth. This topic is indeed very American, though the author is Aussie, most "Masters" (as she called them) are Americans. In reality, this approach is very in-tune with the Anglo-Saxon idea of the world.
3.Books like The Secret should be used to round up, polish, provoke, and help, but understanding their shortcomings and that many questions will remain open, the ultimate search is, as the Oracle of Delphi stated, self-knowledge, or as Vedanta agrees Self-knowledge. That is why there will be frustration, visible in many of the negative reviews, when people expected it to be a panacea, which is not and cannot be.
4.But thought-importance leads us to thought-control, and now we are talking about a very important matter. In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali there is an interesting concept: Pratipaksha Bhavana. It means the mind can only entertain one thought at a time. Ideally by using this concept one reverts back to the thought of the Divine: this is Brahma-Abhyasa. So, finally, the use of a mantra or Mantra Yoga is nothing else that using the Law of Attraction to concentrate our mind on the Divine. This is the highest thought or mental modification.
