It's amazing how cynical slanderers would try to do the rest of our thinking for us. The vast majority of people here, including myself, have found great wisdom and useful truth in the works of James Arthur Ray as for the rest I will share a post I just send to JRI:
EARLIER TODAY I WAS UP IN THE MOUNTAINS AND I BELIEVE I HAVE GREAT NEWS FOR THE JRI LEGAL DEFENSE TEAM;
YOUR BIG LUCKY BREAK COMES FROM THE FACT THAT JRI WAS CHARGING NINE-TO-TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR THE WORKSHOP
PICTURE THIS:
The judge asks one of the participants: Are you trying to tell me that you spent over nine-thousand dollars on a sweat lodge workshop and you did no research whatsoever as to the dangers of what you were getting yourself into?
UNLESS THE GUY IS AN IDIOT HE WILL HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING LIKE: Yes I did do research into the dangers of a sweat lodge ceremony like the one I was undertaking
THEN THE JUDGE SAYS: So, you knew that you may suffer adverse reactions or maybe even die as a result when you spent over nine-thousand dollars and signed an agreement that JRI would not be held liable if you suffered any adverse affects from the sweat lodge workshop, right?
WHAT'S THE GUY SUPPOSED TO SAY? THAT HE SHELLED OUT THE MONEY BUT DIDN'T BOTHER TO DO ANY EXTENSIVE RESEARCH INTO THE MATTER?
(((THAT'S RIDICULOUS!)))
So, if ANY JRI EMPLOYEE OR VOLUNTEER tried to stop ANYONE from leaving the sweat lodge THAT PARTICULAR PERSON may very well be charged with manslaughter if the person they prevented from leaving died. ONLY THAT PARTICULAR PERSON SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE!
As for the rest, it was THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to research the matter before they took their chances and signed a contract that did not hold JRI liable for any adverse effects from the sweat lodge ceremony they participated in.
THE WISE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS
THE UNWISE REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND THAT IS (((THEIR))) PROBLEM when they sign an agreement not holding the company liable with a gym, parachute club, sweat lodge workshop, etc...
Or so I believe it was revealed to me by the Mountain Spirit of Nature
