Book Reviews of The Runaway BunnyBook Review: Adorable illustrations Summary: 5 Stars
Cute story line and illustrations. My 1 year old isn't too into it yet but I think an older child would love the story line and the repetitive nature.
Book Review: Powerful Summary: 5 Stars
This book was read to us in one of my graduate courses...I have never forgotten it! Every child should be cared for in this way by his/her parents!
Book Review: Sweet Story Summary: 5 Stars
I just love reading this sweet story to my little boy! He's my little bunny! The illustrations are beautiful and the story is precious.
Book Review: gentle magic of reassuring words and affectionate pictures Summary: 4 Stars
"The Runaway Bunny" is a heart warming story about a young bunny who decides to run away. But his mother doesn't mind playing this delightful, imaginary game of chase with her little one:
"If you run away,' said his mother, 'I will run after you. For you are my little bunny."
The little bunny tests the strength of Mom's love by this game of hide-and-seek - he "becomes"a fish in a stream, a crocus in a hidden garden, a rock on a mountain ... but his adoring and protective mother still finds a way of retrieving him every time.
"If you become a bird and fly away from me," said his mother, "I will become a tree that you come home to."
The dream-like, surreal pictures in tender pastel tones infuse the feeling of complete security and peace. The soothing, easy to follow rhythm is sure to bring comfort and reassurance of unconditional parents' love.
First published in 1942, this book still remains one of the most popular classics. It has been treasured by generations of readers for its gentle magic of reassuring words and affectionate pictures.

Book Review: Not my favorite, but cute... Summary: 4 Stars
After finding out this book was done by the same author/illustrator as Goodnight Moon (which my kids and I loved) we purchased this book. It is a cute book, although slightly sad to me, but sweet in how the mother bunny loves her little one. Maybe my kids will grow into this one more but so far it has not been at all like Goodnight Moon (which they obsessively liked to read).
