Book Reviews of The Revolution: A Manifesto

Book Review: Why was Ron Paul not elected President?
Summary: 5 Stars

I believe that the main reason he was not elected was there were too many people who had not read this book. Sad to say, I was one of them. It was published 5 months before the election. That gave all of us plenty of time.

There are plenty of other reviews here that will analyze the book's contents. My point is quite different. After reading this, and coming to know the political mindset of this man, what he stands for, and his desire to bring our nation back to foundation principles and universal values, I have wondered, and my reflections, for the most part, have led to my own conclusions. These are, basically: if enough people would have read this book, and come to an understanding of what Ron Paul believed in, and what he was setting out to do for us, he would have been elected. He would have been our President now and we would be living in a much different United States.

If enough people had read this, regardless of all the campaigning, the rhetoric, the news bias, and money that was spent, I believe that Americans, people of good will, would have rallied behind him and he would have broken through the political barriers that seem to govern elections and he would have been able to communicate his message with convincing clarity.

Ron Paul told us the truth we needed to hear. He explained the truth we needed to follow. Many of us were not listening. Yes, truth is sometimes difficult for us to formulate into words. However, when we hear the truth, we know it.

There is hope! According to the Rasmussen Reports, the majority of Americans feel our country is headed in the wrong direction. Although not everyone is going to agree on everything, Ron Paul does define a direction we can choose to take. And, we can! It's our country: we the people! We can decide! We know what is good for us! We do not need a Nanny State and its protectionism, economic interventionism, or regulatory policies (economic, social or otherwise)! If our elected officials do not agree, then fine: Throw the bums out!

Book Review: The future military leadership of America thank God for Ron Paul
Summary: 5 Stars

Thank God for Ron Paul. I am a midshipman at the United States Naval Academy and, in two years time, I will be 23 years old and a 2nd lieutenant in the Marine Corps charged with the lives of roughly 40 Marines. I will willingly put myself in harms way to protect the oath I made to this country's constitution. Sadly, the powers that be in this country are all too willing to sacrifice the lives of people like myself and the men we'll be leading for costly wars of agression. Despite the common misconception, a majority of military members are not trigger-happy jingoists looking to rape and pillage other countries for personal gain. Those individuals happen to be the politicians in control of us. We are fighting for our families and our freedoms and our liberties granted to us by God and reaffirmed by our Constitution. We are not allowed to speak out politically for obvious reasons, and I speak for myself when I say this, but Libertarians are a strong force at my school and we will soon go on to fill important roles in both the military and government. The Second American Revolution has started and I have a group of hard-chargers just waiting to run for congress and take back our country the way Ron Paul has instructed: peacefully. This book is a powerfull primer. Everyone must read, especially those of us that are younger and will be in a position to effect the changes Dr. Paul encourages us to persue.

Support the Constitution. Support the Right to Bear Arms. Support an end to the Federal Reserve and to the oppressive 16th ammendment. Support an end to the prohibition on drugs. Support an end to the prohibition on ANYTHING. Support an end to government waste. Support an end to needless wars of agression. Support an end to one-party "Republicrat" rule. Support the Free State Project. Support the message of freedom and prosperity. Most of all, support Ron Paul and the new manifesto for the Second American Revolution. What a great time to be alive!

Book Review: Member of an Empty Generation
Summary: 5 Stars

I call myself a member of an Empty Generation, for we are the first generation in one thousand years that gets the opportunity to set the foundation for the next thousand years. It is a proven and undeniable fact that revolution will not start in the streets, but in the minds and hearts of men and women who will say, I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. Americans, as do the people of the world, must learn that we cannot get anywhere until the minds of the people are changed, until the hearts of these people are open. This book is a start, as it said in the prelude, a long journey that will be hard fought. Today we are on the wrong track to freedom, we are building the foundation of a thousand years on the unsteady rubble of war and the dust and destruction of 9/11 without the money to continue building or to fix anything.

I love this country and I hope this to be the country that I grow old in, but if it continues down this track of irresponsible spending and empirical conquest, I know not how it will last to my old age, how my Children will be raised in it and grow proud in it. I know not, nor can I see a future in ignorance and theocracy, in acceptance of end times prophecy, and world domination. But as William Faulkner said, "I refuse to believe the fall of man." And I, personally, refuse to believe the fall of the United States. This is a great country and it has the possibility of greatness once more. It is no longer number one, but it can be, and we as citizens of this country can lead it to a new dawn. We, the children of a new Generation, a new millineum, are the adults who will be responsible for the mess that our parents are leaving behind. We are an Empty Generation, because, like anything that is empty, it can be filled with anything... whether it death and destruction, or hope and freedom. That is up to us. I hope this book leads more people ot making the right choice, for this generation sake, and for the future of America.

Book Review: Citizens of the U.S.A., Read this book before it is too late!
Summary: 5 Stars

The pages of this book may well be the last testament in the final chapters of a once great and enlightened nation. We, the few million remaining people who cherish the ideas of the founders of this republic and the authors of our Constitution, are very likely too late to alter the inevitable march toward statism, collectivism and, ultimately, slavery under a neo-feudal system. One day, some historian of the future will recount the history of the U.S.A., much as Gibbon monotonously chronicled the decline and fall of the Roman Empire, and Dr. Paul's wisdom will be a mere footnote on the final pages. ("In 2008 Dr. Ron Paul made a last attempt to rekindle the flames of liberty in the mind of the American public, but it was too late as their minds we unable to grasp the importance of the issues and the simple solution of freedom frightened them. The End."--my imaginary future historian.) I do not believe, after being treated as persona non grata by the mainstream media, after the dishonesty with which he has been maligned by members of his own party, (when HE is fact is the only REAL republican in his party) and knowing the average American citizen's preference for reality TV, accumulation of plastic crap made in China, and self-medicated and/or prescribed chemical numbness, that there is more than a sliver of hope that my negative predictions are not destined to be true. I doubt most Americans have even read the Constitution, turned the pages in a decent history of the American Revolution, or care to. Franklin (and others) predicted that we could easily muck up their creation and we sure as hell have, haven't we? Dr. Paul, too bad you weren't around in 1776. Your portrait might well have been stamped on our worthless (and less) paper "dollars" after which we daily chase, mindlessly trading our liberty and wasting our lives in the process. Had you been born then you might get the respect and admiration which you deserve. Goodnight, America. Sleep tight. Wake me when it's over.

Book Review: The Way It Should Be
Summary: 5 Stars

Ron Paul's views that are expressed in this book are so on point that it makes it all the more sad after reading, to see the heads of our elected officials turn the other way day after day about what should be fundamentals of a free government. Granted, Ron Paul has a very different opinion than what we are experiencing today in the US but I firmly believe that that is due to at least a century of misguidance, sporadic corruption, and both intentional and unintentional misinterpretation of government policies and our constitution. Ron Paul's views are not so different when compared to the constitution and the way we governed ourselves for the first century of our existence as an independent nation. We need to go back to the basics and this book is a great place to begin but in fact it is merely the tip of the iceberg. The only way we can achieve such a turnaround is through education. The general public needs to be educated and we are far from that at this point in time. The public turning to mainstream media (TV & newspaper) for education is simply keeping them uninformed and ignorant to very real facts and topics. Things are turning around slowly but surely as the new generations begin to mature, make their voices heard, and naturally express an openness to real change for the better and against imperfections and misdirected political PR powerhouse campaigns that used media as a vehicle, most predominantly, throughout previous generations. The book opened me up to much of the above. It's very well written, clear and concise with numerous direct references that are able to be researched and verified.

I highly recommend buying this book simply for the educational leverage it will provide you with. Buy it for more than just yourself. Then after you read it, loan it out to more people. It's not often that I do not think "it's about the sales/money", this book it truly on point. The sales should reflect that and they do, therefore helping its cause.
