Book Reviews of The Redskins EncyclopediaBook Review: AWESOME for any football fan Summary: 5 Stars
Well-written and well-organized. The Redskins Encyclopedia brings to life the 75-year history of this storied franchise. Offered are facts and statistics for each season, season highlights such as particular games, players, coaches, etc. The book is much more than just facts. There are plenty of sidebars and side stories. They leave you hungry for more.
It is obvious to the reader that Richman has devoted a good portion of his life to research and to interviewing past and present Redskins players. He must have a lot of persistence and clout to be able to compile the information that is included in this 432-page book. My favorite part of the book is all of the anecdotes, quotes and trivia. The over 200 photos helped me relive some wonderful memories.
This book is a "Must Have" for all football fans, history buffs and especially Redskin fans. Considering it's content, this book is completely under priced. What a great gift!

First off, I am not particularly fond of footbal, and I did not know who the Redskins are. With that in mind though, this is a comprehensive encyclopedia that will inform the uninitiated and delight those who are Redskin fans.
There is over 400 pages of info here. It goes back from the very beginning of the Redskins to today with complete rosters and recaps of all their major games, ect. This book will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about them, but if you are already a fan I would suggest buying it because it does contain so much information geared towards the Redskin fans.
God Bless and *enjoy* ~Amy
Book Review: Fantastic Comprehensive History Of The Redskins Summary: 5 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Michael Richman obviously put a lot of work into The Redskins Encyclopedia. In its 418 pages you get a year by year overview of the team and its history, a listing of the, "Washington Monuments," or the greatest players, coaches, and executives in Redskins history, Redskins statistical records, and even a game by game list of scores from throughout their history!
The book is well written, well oraganized, and is a lot of fun to read beyond being a great resource for information.
If you're a Redskins fan - or just a pro football fan - this book really is a, "Must Have."

Very nice coffee-table sized book filled with great info on the Skins. The book has great trivia as well; "Catchiest Redskin Nicknames" (ie: Bob "Blubber" Morgan). Press releases, stats and player bios with plenty of photos. Stadium information and early pictures are also in the pages of this hardcover book. The back is filled with stats for those 'geeks' that love that stuff! "All Time Assistant Coaches" and "Individual Playoff Records" are two that are featured. I do wish there were some color photos, but this volume is a must-have for any Redskins fan.

Michael Richman has done a superb job of putting together this fascinating collection of info on all things to do with the Washington Redskins football franchise. The team has been around for a long time so there is a lot of yardage to cover here and he does it very well.
There are lots of classic black and white photos; Sonny Jurgensen, Gene Brito, Dick James...and lots more that I had forgotten until I read this book. 400 pages of highlights, bios, stats. It's all here!
