Book Reviews of The Purrfect Murder (Mrs. Murphy Mysteries)Book Review: Absolutely Horrible Summary: 1 Stars
I'm glad I found this book at the library and didn't waste my hard earned money on it.
The topic of abortion is very much a hot-button issue. Everyone has their own views of it. No one likes to have someone elses views literally shoved down their throat. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt this way.
I used to enjoy the Mrs. Murphey series very much. I had stumbled on it one day when I was looking for a new author to read. But never again. I don't even know if I will be inclined to read her old novels after this one.
Book Review: Frustrating At Best Summary: 1 Stars
This is the most frustrating read I have ever experienced. All the characters are defined at the front of the book for a reason: one has to constantly go back to see who is who. The pets have names, too!!! Many times the dialogue is from the standpoint of the cats. I'm sorry I ever bought this book. It will be donated to a library for people who have far more time on their hands than myself. I stopped reading 1/3rd into the book. I will not purchase other books by the author for they will likely be as frustrating to read.
Book Review: stereotype-feast Summary: 1 Stars
Rita Mae Brown use this novel as a vehicle to push her pro-infanticide views. All the liberal shibboleth are there, all the so-called arguments of the last 30 years, all the grammatical engineering like "reproductive rights", "pro choice" and other manipulative euphemisms are present. all pro-life people are described as greedy jerks or perverts and all pro-infanticide people are described as compassionate (the compassion does not extend to the victim babies of "choice", of course). In short: her worse book to date!
Book Review: Impurrfect Murder Summary: 1 Stars
How very disappointing, another great series that has completely lost it. The older books in the series made you feel as though you were a part of the town and a part of all of the character's lives. "The Purrfect Murder" felt like the author couldn't wait to finish it, and neither could I. The plot was weak, the characters shallow, our heroine turned totally stupid, and there was not enough of the animals. I'm not sure that I will waste money on the next book.
