Book Reviews of The PromiseBook Review: The Promise Summary: 5 Stars
The Promise, by, Danielle Steel is the perfect example of love conquering all; overcoming all obstacles including politics, jealousy, deception, and battles that lie within.
As graduation approaches, young architect Michael Hillyard, and artist Nancy McAllister despite his high-class mother's disapproval are determined, and devoted to get married. In a desperate, romantic attempt they decide to elope, but neither of them could foresee the terrible fate ahead of them. A devastating accident, and a cruel, and manipulating agreement separate Michael and Nancy, perhaps forever. Nancy is forced to move to San Francisco to recover from her terrible injuries, and Michael moves to New York to start working for his mother. They each pursue new lives, and search for the part of themselves that they lost when they were torn apart. Bust as the trust reveals itself, nothing, and no one can stand in the way of fate..... in the way of their promise.
This book is captivating, and draws the reader in from the beginning. It's heart-stopping, and gives hope to the world's "hopeless romantics." It causes the reader to get involved, showing emotion towards characters, and their actions as the book progresses. The author is amazing. She demonstrates many factors of distinguished and charismatic writing qualities within this book. Some which include: love, conflict, politics, drama, suspense, tragedy, jealousy, and hope. The characters test the limit of human love, and compassion; proving that true love exists, and can withstand the test of time. As well as it portrays love, it also exhibits just how vindictive and ruthless people can be. How sometimes nothing and nobody will stand in the way of a person's aspirations, no matter what they have to do. This book shows the truth of life. Recommended to all readers, this book portrays love, hate, and all emotions that lie in-between.
Now and Forever, by, Danielle Steel is another excellent book that is highly recommended if The Promise is tempting, and sounds enchanting.
