Book Reviews of The Practice of the Presence of GodBook Review: Must have for any Christian Summary: 5 Stars
This book was referred to in another book that I was reading. I was enjoying that book so I checked Amazon for Brother Lawrence's book and ordered a copy. It has proven to be one of the BEST investments I have ever made. This tiny book is just amazing in the Truth that it delivers. Brother Lawrence seems to have been an exceptional human being blessed with tremendous Grace from God. It was so because he sought after it. I have recently traveled through losing a job and beginning a new one quite different from what I was used to. After 25 years of being a manager I am now punching a time clock and emptying my own trash. When I begin experiencing pride issues I can pick this book up and immediately be put in my place. Praise God! This book may be small in size but is LARGE in content. Personally, I highly recommend.
Book Review: A Simple but Powerful Message Summary: 5 Stars
This little book packs a wallop. It contains a simple but powerful message: to live in contact with God, one need only hold Him in mind, or carry on a mental conversation with Him. The reason why Brother Lawrence's book is so transforming is that one can feel that he practiced what he preached. As he describes the process of practicing the presence, the reader is drawn into the gossamer web of the author's own experience. To begin this practice, all we have to do is read this book. We are given a boost at the beginning; the rest is up to us. Take this book on retreat, or pick it up whenever you are feeling spiritually dry. It will open your heart and nurture your soul.

Book Review: One of the most important books I have read Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the most important books I have ever read and I strongly recommend it to anyone seeking a deeper walk with Him. The most important book a person seeking to understand God can read is the Bible. If you want to learn to walk closely with God, The Practice of the Presence of God offers advice that is profoundly simple and deeply insightful. I have read this book at least ten times over the past twenty years and will certainly read it again. It serves as a reminder to me to keep in mind that God is always present. Walking with the one true God involves a desire to know Him, the simple faith of Brother Lawrence, and Practicing His presence. Book Review: Inspiration for the journey of our daily lives Summary: 5 Stars
This slim volume, written in a style evoking times past, has done wonders for me. I find myself returning to it, and have begun to carry it around in my purse in order to pull it out at a moment's notice. My husband was deeply impacted by it also. We both feel that if we can successfully put into practice the advice so generously given by Brother Lawrence, we will be able to experience a union with God that will allow us to accomplish our most menial daily tasks with great joy and love.It is not called "The Practice of..." lightly. The concepts presented here are pure and simple, but living them takes practice and patience. Let this book find its way into your heart, mind and soul!
Book Review: A gentle push towards a daily relationship with God. Summary: 5 Stars
Monks have it easy. They spend all day, every day, praying and going to mass and taking communion and being in relationship with God.
But what about those of us with real lives? Kids, pets, careers, grocery shopping? How do WE stay connected to God throughout our busy days?
This has been a challenge for me as a new Christian. Enter Brother Lawrence. His simple letters remind all of us how we can put God front and center, even in the midst of our normal lives. Make every act a prayer. Wash some dishes with the Beloved. Invite God to your PTA meetings. He reminds us that the most mundane acts can be acts of worship. It is a powerful, simple, and loving book.
