In this lucidly written book, the author clearly delineates the true meaning of "Love". One of only a handful of truly enlightened American spiritual masters of the 20th century, this powerfully loving and gently self-effacing being literally stands in the august company of such luminaries as St. Augustine. Delving into the nature of "romantic or human love" and "divine love", the author clarifies the often misunderstood differences between the two in a simple fashion. "Romantic or human love" is conditional and epheremal, and therefore is seeking something in return. That something can be as simple as "wanting approval" for being a "good" person. "Wanting" is posited as a negative state.
Divine Love, or "Unconditional Love and Approval" is approached as a Universal Power. The author posits that this is the inherent true nature of All That Is, including human beings. It is free of conditions, and free of judgment. As a power, it is has a positive quality, which transcends time.
How does this relate to someone going about an average day? Simply put, learning to identify those negative feelings which are of a non-loving nature, and letting go of them, provides an easy means to a better, less stresful, more abundant life.
