Book Review: Great story with many plotlines

I've always enjoyed Stephen Frey's books, and Power Broker was no exception. There are many different storylines that seem fragmented and disjointed, but as the story progresses, the reader finds out that they are all related. On the one hand, there is the Order, which is a secret group of wealthy white men who have the power and means to do just about anything. Then there is Jesse Wood, who has the potential to become the first African American president, much to the Order's chagrin. In the middle of it all is Christian Gillette, chairman of Everest Capital, a New York based investment firm. He is what binds all other storylines together.
Is it believable? No. It's too big a conspiracy and some parts are not logical or practical. But nonetheless, it is a great thriller. There's deceit, corruption, murder, and scandal. I found it fascinating and a page turner.
