In yet another volume of "The Portable Queer", Erin McHugh gives us a look at our past. Here is a short little history of gays from "Back in the Day' to "Milestones" to "Our World" to "Signs and Symbols". We have been around for a long time and it my seem strange that this history can be contained in a little book of only 124 pages. This is certainly not a full history but the highlights are there.
The book is convenient when you need to look at the past and it is the right size so that it can be carried along.
All of the three volumes of "The Portable Queer" are welcome. They may not teach a great deal but here is a starting point.
