Book Review: An amazing Creole cookbook

My mother used this cookbook when she was learning to make authentic, amazing gumbo. Years later she found these reprints and gifted us with a copy each of this nifty cookbook. Preprinted from the 1901 version and simple in style, the recipes aren't the only thing you'll find. There are stories, references to grocery prices, musing over lost practices, and more - sometimes all in the middle of a single recipe. Check out the recipe for Snipe on Toast.
