Book Reviews of The Phoenix of the OperaBook Review: Sadie Pleases The Phantom Sequel Fans Summary: 5 Stars
Sadie Montgomery's The Phoenix Of The Opera is a wonderful start
to her quartet of books, following on from the The Phantom Of The Opera film 2004 and a must for all lovers of sequels and there are quite a few of us, who just didn't want the film version to end there. It is very well written and thought out and i love the way she has mixed the past and present together to create new adventures, but maintaining the strong theme throughout. She gives The Phantom a new love interest, one who loved, watched and waited in the background and will save him from despair, but not without many heartbeaking moments in between. I strongly recommend this book and have bought copies for my friends too, who also love it.

Book Review: The Phoenix of the Opera Summary: 5 Stars
It is surely a delicate task to write a novel using such well known and loved characters as those from "The Phantom of the Opera". Ms. Montgomery was certainly up to the challenge. She delivers an intriguing story in which the actions and motivations of the characters are true to the parameters established by the movie and are enhanced by references to Gaston Leroux's novel. I was hooked from the beginning where the story dovetailed perfectly with the end of the movie. This book is every bit as hopeful and heartbreaking as the film and is a must read for any Phantom fan. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and can't wait for the next book in the series.
Book Review: Great for an alternate tale. Summary: 5 Stars
As one of the local "Phantom nerds" in my town I just had to read it. I've read varying Phantom based novels, some very good, others a waste of money. The novel describes Meg's relationship with the Phantom and I was impressed with Ms. Montgomery's accuracy toward Erik. I can't remember how many bad fanfiction's or novels I've read where he suddenly forgets Christine in exchange for Meg. Highly unrealistic toward his character usually combined with an equally bad plot. Ms. Montgomery totally ignores this stereotype and presents Erik struggling with his obsession for Christine as well as trying to accept the affection Meg holds for him.
Book Review: Great Follow-up Read from the Movie Version Summary: 5 Stars
I was a big fan of Christine returning to the Phantom after seeing the movie, but was truly surprised when reading Sadie's book to see Meg become a big part of his life. I think she did a beautiful job of making the story jump off the pages and you feel as if you were right there with the characters as they went through so many trials and tribulations, but yet managed to have some joyous times between. Sadie did a beautiful job of melding her story with the ending of the movie. If you loved the movie, you will love her book. It is truly a great read and am looking forward to all her others.
Book Review: Phoenix of The Opera, first of a great series Summary: 5 Stars
This first book of a four book series that picks up where the movie, "Phantom of the Opera" left off is full of tense drama and intrigue with powerful character studies. Sadie molded the characters beautifully. Erik was torchered and defiant and reluctant to love again. I'm trying not to give anything specific away because I want the reader to enjoy the ride through this book and the others to follow. I highly recommend this book and the others in the series to those who fell in love with the Phantom and wanted to know what happened to him. I love this sequel to the story.
