Book Reviews of The Phantom Returns

Book Review: A must-read for any Phantom Phan!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Whether you are a die-hard Phantom phan, or simply a fan of the play or film, you will not be disappointed. Ms. Cole is able to capture the very essence of what the Phantom of the Opera is all about...redeeming love. At the same time, she tells a thoroughly entertaining story, picking up where we left off with the characters in this timeless tale. She also brilliantly dives deep into the heart, mind, and soul of the the main characters (Phantom, Christine, Raoul), and even the sub-characters at certain points. For me, allowing the reader to truly understand why a character is the way they are or thinks the way they think is the hallmark of any great work. And Ms. Cole beautifully captures this with such detail and emotion. BRAVA!

Book Review: Cole is amazing!
Summary: 5 Stars

I read this book in one day. I found it to be an interesting sequel. Cole has an awesome writing style. She places the characters in interesting situations and stays (mostly) true to who they are.

I was a little upset by how Raoul turned out, but of course that had to happen for Christine to end up where she does. I also didn't understand the ending that much...we are given one ending, then the rug is pulled out from under us, and Cole says, "ha ha, that's not really what happened."

This book satisfies every Phantom phan's phantasy! (enough phs for you?) I am pleased that I ordered it. The cover is beautiful as well!

Book Review: A satisfying sequel
Summary: 5 Stars

I found Stefanie Cole's book to be just what I was looking for after seeing The Phantom of the Opera in the theatre and on video. Many people would love to envision what would happen to Christine, Raoul, and Erik after the closing curtain. Well Cole has given us something to hold onto in a very romantic yet realistic portrayal of what could have happened. I loved the attention to detail regarding language, clothing, and activities that would have occured during those historical times. It was a fun read and very easy to imagine as a movie or theatre sequel...one can only hope! I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoyed the original opera/movie.

Book Review: The Phantom returns an excellent story.
Summary: 5 Stars

After watching the movie "The Phantom of the Opera" I often wished for some kind of closure to it's ending. This story had me intrigued from the first paragraph right up to the end. There were actually times where I held my breath it was that thrilling. The story flowed with an ease which made it continuely exciting and at times even a bit addictive. The author captured the Phantom's true essence ; a man who suffers many journeys with the pride of the Devil but with the heart of an Angel.I would recommend it to anyone!

Book Review: Stays True to Beloved Characters
Summary: 5 Stars

From the first page, I knew I would like this book. She keeps the characters in true form and does not detract from them, unlike another book I read that was a sado/masochistic nightmare that distorted every character into something grotesque.
This books satisfies the need for closure to the story, until Andrew Lloyd Webber finishes his follow up.
I really enjoyed it, it was romantic and I would say even for teens a good read without heavy sexual passages.
Brava Stefanie! Well done.
