Book Reviews of The Official SAT Study Guide: For the New SATBook Review: A good investment--particularly if you use the $10 discount for online course Summary: 5 Stars
It's hard to knock an item that is relatively low in cost yet has the potential to reap great dividends. My daughter has buried herself in the book and we invested the additional $50 (cost after discount with purchase of book) so she could use the online component. A must-have for any self-motivated student.
Caveat: I suspect that (like any form of study), it is difficult to forcefully apply the contents to unwilling parties!! :D
UPDATE 08/09: Helped my daughter to achieve a fantastic score!! She said all of the prep really helped her. Glad we invested in it.
Book Review: We use this book for our SAT tutoring courses. Summary: 5 Stars
Our average student has raised their SAT score by at least 200 points by using this book as a study guide combined with a qualified, one-on-one tutor. Our instructors and students have found it to be easy to read and use, and have said the practise tests prepared them for the real SAT.
When combined with our (copyrighted) diagnostic test, extra vocabulary practise, and a qualified instructor, this book serves as an excellent tool for raising your test scores. We highly recommend this book!

Book Review: A Must for SAT Prep Summary: 5 Stars
This book is essential for preparing to take the SAT. It has test questions that are most like the actual SAT questions. The "getting started" section with pointers and recommendations is too vague to be of much use. Unless you can work with a tutor, I suggest you pair this with one of the study guides that provide a more thorough review of the concepts and types of questions on the test (preferrably one that includes an SAT vocab list). My daughter paired this with Maximum SAT, and felt well prepared for her recent first SAT sitting.
Book Review: As a Secondary English Teacher/Online SAT Essay Grader... Summary: 5 Stars
I recommend this guide highly. As a previous reviewer cautioned, don't use it as your only means of preparation. Your study should be multi-faceted. In terms of which preparation guide to purchase, this one is the way to go. Used alone, you will increase your score. Used in combination with school classes or private classes, as well as paying attention to instruction and feeback from your writing teachers, and/or participating in study circles with like-minded students, you will increase your score greatly! Good Luck.
Book Review: Essential for SAT Summary: 5 Stars
Everyone who is preparing for SAT or PSAT needs this book. It includes 8 test that are as close to the real SATs as possible since they are prepared by the same people. I would recommend using it after reviewing most of the math and verbal subjects as a practice book. I use it in my prep sessions as homework and quiz material as well.
One con is that the first part of the book that reviews Math/English subjects are not very useful which makes it unsuitable for being the only book to use.
