Book Review: Great buy for practice, not strategies - No Solutions

My 5 star rating is not an overral review, but a review for the quality of their practice tests. If you are looking for practice tests, this is the book for you because it inclused tests written by ETS, and after taking the March 12 exam I can tell you that the practice tests and actual tests are very similar. While this book is awesome for practice tests, it is not the book to buy for strategies. Which the book includes some strategies, CollegeBoard is not going to release a book that tells you tricks to solve the problems they test you on. Also, the solutions to problems ARE NOT in the book, and you mast pay for them through their online course. I did this, but I don't think you should have to pay for them.Book Review: Listen carefully !!!!!!!!

Forget about every other SAT book you find. Get this one.
Before I purchased this book, I was searching for so long, I was confused, I read other reviews, I even looked inside of other SAT books. Appearently, I made an EXCELLENT CHOICE.
To make a long story short, this book offers 8 actual SAT exams and tips that will help you score higher that you wont find anywhere else.
Anyway,Buy this book, you will be glad you did !!!
P.S, The BEST way to study for the SAT, is to sit down for 3hours and 45 minutes and take an entire practice test. Do it about 3 or 4 times before the actual SAT date, and you should score at least 1700. Good Luck!!!!

I took the new SAT in March and my advice to you is buy this book, take ALL the tests, make sure you understand every single problem, review some vocab (NY-times is a great source of vocab!), and buy the barrons SAT II writing book to brush up on your grammar and you are on your way to a 2400! After taking the test I can tell you that if you master this book you will know how to do every single problem on the SATs! So stop reading this review, buy the book, start your prep (TIMING the tests and taking each test in a single sitting-- VERY important), and GOOD LUCK! I'm still awaiting my score, but whatever improvement I've made I owe it to this book and to barrons SAT II writing!Book Review: Buy it.

I got a 1990 on the PSAT, and I thought I could do better, so I bought this book a few months before I took the SAT. I studied a little bit every day, and I think it improved my score significantly. On the SAT, I improved on every section (700 writing, 710 math, 720 critical reading). Being able to take several practice tests from this book made me much more comfortable when taking the actual tests. The only problem was the essay, on which I earned a 7 out of 12 ("partial mastery") I usually get excellent grades on essays at my high school, and I wasn't sure what went wrong. This book doesn't really help much with the essay, but most colleges don't consider it yet anyway.Book Review: Pair This Book With Barron's!!

I am a verbal SAT tutor for the past 26 years. Here is my formula for success, and it is the reason that people pay me an insane amount of money to work with their kids. Step #1 -- Get the Barron's SAT book first. Do every test. Read the answer explanations carefully. Step #2 -- Get this book. Take the 8 practice tests, sitting straight through for each exam, 4 hours with the break. This book is easier than Barrons, so you should feel an improvement when you take these real tests. Get the book HOT WORDS FOR THE SAT by Linda Carnevale, and learn a few chapters each week. Good luck on the exam!!
