Book Reviews of The Nutcracker BalletBook Review: Great Introdction for Children Summary: 5 Stars
This is a fine, beautifully illustrated companion to a child's first Nutcracker. While the text may be a little advanced for smaller children, the illustrations will bring the ballet to vivid life. The picture of the Mouse King may be a bit frightening for younger children (as it was for the young person to whom I read the story).
Book Review: beautiful illustrations Summary: 5 Stars
After looking at about half a dozen nutcracker ballet story versions, this one was the best.
We first went to see the ballet when my daughter was 3.5. Having read the book was really helpful. The illustrations and colors are just beautiful. This is a keeper for many generations of girls (and boys!) who love ballet!
Book Review: Owned it 1 week, read it 43 times! Summary: 5 Stars
This book was a huge hit with my 3 1/2 year old. She loves books and I bought it in anticipation of our upcoming trip to see The Nutcracker. The illustrations are beautiful, she loves just looking at them. The story is well written (the mouse king is not too scary) and includes everything I love about the ballet. Great book!
Book Review: Beautiful, Engaging Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter has been enjoying the ballet this holiday season, so I bought her this book. We both love it! The illustrations are beautiful, and the story is just the right length for a child of her age (4 years). I only wish it came in hardcover... such a shame when such lovely books are only available in paperback form.
Book Review: Lovely Retelling of the Story Summary: 5 Stars
My boy-girl twins have loved this book since they were 3. The story is easy to read and a very good retelling of the ballet. The illustrations in this book are lovely and colorful, my kids love the colors and the detail in the pictures. This book was very helpful when we went to see the ballet with the kids this year.
