Book Review: Good Common Sense Advice On How To Eat Healthy And Lose Weight

I have never been a big fan of diets. But, on the recommendation of my doctor, I decided to check out this book. The truth is I am really impressed by it. It's not some kind of fad diet that asks you to follow a strict program of eating only certain foods. But rather more like common sense advice on how to eat healthy and lose weight at the same time.
The basic idea is that American society has become riddled with obesity largely because people have stopped eating natural foods and instead eat processed foods, especially those with high levels of refined sugar. It gives advice on what foods to eat, such as fruits, vegetables, lean meats, whole wheat bread and pasta, etc. while avoiding too many sweets, refined flour and a few other things.
It's really about returning to the diet that has sustained humanity over the ages and getting away from the highly processed foods that we have come to depend on. To me this is good advice and something I feel will enable me to achieve better health and weight loss over the long term. Recommended!
