Book Review: great bedtime fare

Ah, is there anything more relaxing than a cozy nap in a warm house on a rainy day? Every inhabitant of the The Napping House manages to pile on to granny's bed for a few sociable ZZZZZs, until that damnable wakeful flea appears! If you remember cumulative stories such as "the old woman who swallowed the fly (I don't know why she swallowed that fly)", then you'll know what to expect from this charming and funny book. The illustrations are tremendous, and will keep the book fresh even after many readings. This is a book that an adult reader will enjoy, too. I purchased this little board book for my 18 mo old granddaughter to give as an Easter gift... it was so stunning to look at when it arrived, I just couldn't wait to give it to her. Apparently her 3 1/2 year old big brother has been given a much-loved copy from an older cousin, so he was familiar with the story. The board book was perfect for her little hands; I read the story to her and she adored the beautiful illustrations... went back page after page to see all of the little details on each page. This book is one of Nana's favorites!.... I highly recommend it!Book Review: Another great classic to pair with a Spanish translation!

What a nice lilting lullaby that seems to calm my children even at their fussiest. Then I read the Spanish version, and they are increasing their vocabulary in both languages. I highly recommend this one and La Casa Adormecida as gifts to anyone looking to find ways to introduce their children to Spanish at the perfect age (the younger the better!) Of course, without a foundation like Flip Flop Spanish, it's difficult, but still a lovely book in any language!Book Review: A delightful romp!

This is another classic by the husband and wife team of Don & Audrey Wood. What happens when a wakeful flea interrupts naptime? Read this wonderful story and find out. The soft colors of the nappping house when all are sleeping is wonderfully contrasted with the bright colors of a wakeful house. Brilliant! This is a great book for either quiet times, or silly times. Infants & up can't get enough of The Napping House. And neither can I!Book Review: Delightful Bedtime Reading

My 3 yr old daughter really likes this book. It's a really cute book, but since I told her that she was the "dreaming child" and that her Grandma was the "snoring granny", she can't get enough of it. It also helped that Grandma has a dog and a cat too, like the granny in the story. She laughs and squeals at the funny illustrations. This is going to be a book that her and Grandma will get to share often, especially on sleep overs.
