Customer Review: Colorless and emotionless bore

I have to agree with other reviewers. The author was so concerned with the pretentious prose and the telling of the story, he forgot about the story. I really wanted this to be a good story, but it just fell flat. Right off, the author didn't make me genuinely care about the characters. As one reviewer already pointed out, the author TELLS everything instead of showing us and letting us come to the right conclusions. The only reason I read past the first fifty pages was out of irritation that I didn't know what the heck was going on. I skimmed the last half of the book and am glad that I did. I would not recommend this to my students.
