Book Reviews of The Mothman PropheciesBook Review: Movie First, Book Second Summary: 5 Stars
Another reviewer recommended seeing the movie first and reading the book second. This is a good idea as the movie is good for entertainment value and about 10% truth. Keel's book is the actual events as they took place. The book is told in a straight-forward and scientific manner. I was very glad that the author did not spend the whole time talking just about the Mothman. He also included parts of related phenomenon, such as the men-in-black. Definitely a book that needs to be read by UFO enthusiasts.
Book Review: Terror, Tragedy, even a bit a humor! Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the greatest books ever written on my favorite subject: Cryptozoology. Although there is only one chapter dedicated to the Mothman itself, there are many accounts of aliens, and other "ulrtaterrestrial" beings that scared ...me. The book was tragic in a way as well, John's harrassments and the death of his friend at the end of the book. Anyway... John's wit choked a chuckle or two out of me and it takes A LOT to do that when I'm reading a book. This is a must have book for anyone! ...
Book Review: One of few books I've read twice! Summary: 5 Stars
This book was great! If you aren't sure if you believe in these tyes of things, you will after you read this! It'll make you look at strangers in your hometown with a whole new perspective. If you've ever had anything crazy happen with your telephone, this book will really make you wonder what happened! And it's true - the movie was horrible and has nothing at all to do with the book! Read this book and forget about the movie!
Book Review: This was kind of an eerie book. Summary: 5 Stars
Since my family comes from West Virginia, not too far from Point Pleasant, I thought that this would be a rather interesting book. I loved it. John Keel really summed up his sightings an accounts very well. I'd recommend this book to anyone who has interests in the paranormal of any kind. It seems to have it all: UFOs, mysterious creatures (the Mothman), poltergeist activity, ghostly activity, and psychic phenomena.
Book Review: Great book about a strange entity Summary: 5 Stars
This is a gripping book about the strange "mothman" encounters in West Virginia in the 1960s. If you have any interest in the paranormal you should definitely give this book a try. It is great entertainment, even if you're one of those skeptics who don't believe a word the author is saying. I wish the plot of the movie had been closer to the book.
