Fantastic pictures capture the essence of 36 villages there, along with great, accurate descriptions. Excellent coffee table book, too. Also, a very special gift book. This book is gorgeous! All the photos are clear, none of them are grainy or crappy which is my biggest pet peave. The towns are accurately portrayed and the histories are fascinating. I have to say though that my favorite town in this book is San Gimignano! I've been all over Italy (my family lives there) and that is my absolute favorite town. Another town which is in Umbria called Orvieto is definately worth the visit!Book Review: beautiful villages of tuscany

i orignially purchased this book as a resource for a paper i was doing on tuscany, but when i received it and began to browse through it, i sat down and read the entire thing from cover to cover. the photography was magnificent; the information was just the right amount without going on and on; the entire product was stunning. i wanted to run to the internet and book the next flight to tuscany!Book Review: The Most Beautiful VIllages of Tuscany

Don't leave this book on your coffee table. Take it anywhere you can dream. The pictures are so clear you can smell the air and run your hands over the bricks. The copy is crisp and well written. The perfect book to sit with in front of the fire, when the wind is howling and dream of warmer climates and clear skies.Book Review: Beautiful Photographs

While not a travel book, per se, this book provides a great starting point for trip planning in Tuscany. It is too bad that few of us will ever have enough time to visit all of these villages but it is great for armchair travel, too.
