I have owned the Million Word Dictionary so long that I had to buy a new copy, the other one got ragged. While I was at it, I got the Million Word Crossword Answer Book since it was by the same authors. I work NY Times Sunday crosswords exclusively and can't solve them without the MW Dictionary, which I use constantly. But since I purchased the MW Crossword Answer Book, which is just a collection of lists of possible words, I have only used it one time, and that was only sort of. Most crossword puzzles of real difficulty require imagination or else specific resources -- French or Latin dictionaries, or $50 world atlases, or the OED, for example; or else something not even a Thesaurus can help you with. You are NOT going to find the word you need from a list of possible words. It just can't be complete enough. By the way, even the MW Dictionary is far from complete. You still need the World Almanac, Stars and Planets, and even a book on Mythology like Edith Hamilton's. Sorry, but the MW Crossword Answer Book is nearly useless in my experience. The MW Dictionary is 25 times more useful at least. What the authors need to do is work on a TWO million word crossword dictionary!Book Review: Confused

I already have the 2004 edition of The Million Word Crossword Dictionary. Because this book looks just like the one I have except it's The Million Word Crossword Answer book, I thought I was buying the latest version of the 2004 book. I wish they wouldn't make it look almost the same.
