Book Reviews of The MammyBook Review: A great book to read aloud! Summary: 5 Stars
I received this book for my fifteenth wedding anniversary and read it over the course of several evenings and afternoons to my huband. We enjoyed it so. At times we had to stop to wipe the tears from our faces because we were laughing so hard. I can't remember the last time if ever we experienced as much laughter at a movie. I strongly recommend the book, just for the fun of it!
Book Review: I couldn't put it down! Summary: 5 Stars
This book was a delight to read. The characters and scenes were so real that I could see Agnes and her mop dancing to the strains of "It's all in the game". Agnes's strength and humor during adversity was admirable. Her friendship with Marion was enviable. "The Mammy" is sentimental without being soppy. Don't miss this one!
Book Review: A pleasant afternoon read Summary: 5 Stars
This is the first of Brendan O'Carroll's delightful stories of the inimitable Browne family. Have you ever tried to laugh and cry at the same time? I'm not sure I would have wanted a mother like the one in this book, but I do admire her stamina, perseverance and pluck. The book is short enough to finish in one sitting, a good holiday travel choice.
Book Review: You might as well buy the next two books also Summary: 5 Stars
because you'll love this one so much you won't be able to wait to see what happens in the next two books. My cousin told me I MUST read this book so I did. Now, I pass it among my friends and they have all enjoyed it also. So buy this book, you won't be disappointed, and then pass it on to your friends with a sense of humor.
Book Review: Thank you Brendan O'Carroll! Summary: 5 Stars
Delightful beginning for his funny, bawdy, heart warming series containing three books. Donada Peters brings the robust characters to life. After reading or listening to The Mammy, you'll agree that The Chisllers and The Grammy are a must read too. Each book stands alone. If you want three time the laughs, get all three!
