Book Reviews of The Making of Pride and Prejudice (BBC)Book Review: Must Have for any P&P fan Summary: 5 Stars
Great book, filled with lots of pictures, and gives interesting information on everything related to Pride and Predjudice. So much research and behind the scenes work went into this beautiful production, this book is certainly worth purchasing. My only wish would be to have larger pictures of Mr. Darcy! Maybe a whole chapter of just Mr Darcy pictures! The chapter in which Mr Firth discusses how he acted in some of the more dramatic scenes was definitely a favorite. Great book!
Book Review: Excellent gift for Pride and prejudice's lovers Summary: 5 Stars
The book is introducing the making of the BBC television series of the classical novel--Pride and prejudice. Inside the book, there are numbers of beautiful pictures of scences, actors and actresses. And it also shows the whole way of the making process of the film no matter the most tiny detail that the little tools used or clothes, background music etc. It's wonderful for lovers of Pride and prejudice and wouldn't eager put it down if start read the first page of it.
Book Review: Making of Pride and Prejudice Summary: 5 Stars
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the making of the movie Pride and Prejudice. It was interesting to go behind the scenes and read about the actors and actresses who were in the movie and looking at the stage sets. When you watch the movie, it is almost like being there. You get really into the characters and the situations that are being displayed in both the book and on screen. I felt like I was back in time and had lived in that era. It is a very good read.
Book Review: Superb! Summary: 5 Stars
I highly recommend this book for any true die-hard fans of P&P. This has got to be the mother-of-all 'making of' books! There are many quotes and interviews from cast members throughout. As well, Sue Birtwistle goes into great detail about the production of P&P (e.g. how the food on the set was preserved, etc.). I have both the DVD and the novel and I must say that this book definitely supplements the 'P&P' experience. Bravo!
Book Review: Beth Summary: 5 Stars
How much do I Love Pride and Prejudice, let me count the ways...Have loved this BBC production since the 1990's (never tire of watching it over and over; wore out the VHS and now have the DVD). It is the most perfect piece of literature complimented by a perfect visual production and now this perfect book explaining how the production came to be. Thank you so very much for taking the time to give Jane Austin fans this wonderful book.
