Book Reviews of The Love DareBook Review: Counselors, get this book!! Summary: 5 Stars
Amazing! For several years I've been counseling men who's marriages are in disarray. But nothing I've been able to tell them is even nearly as good as the wonderful examples of self-less love in this book. It's daily love-deeds can make all the difference. And the wonderful part about The Love Dare is that during the 40-day walk, the Word of God and the Holy Spirit will change a man's heart. That's what it's all about.
Our Lord gave us men The Love Dare right here..."Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the Church, and gave Himself for her."
Gave Himself for her! That is the issue! We have only been thinking about the big ME, while Christ wants us to lay down our life for her.
I have begun to challenge "my men" in this way "If you will promise to do the Love Dare, and faithfully report to me about how you are doing, then I will buy the book for you."
Book Review: HOLDING ON Summary: 5 Stars
The LOVE DARE book is not your normal HOW TO have a better Marriage book. It is a work book that requires your loving action. It is practical and wise with information that has probably been told to you at some point in time but you have never put it all together. Reading the book and going through the daily "dares" made me think and ask God about all the hard questions about myself and my wife. I can honestly tell you that as I went through the daily chapters all my questions were answered. GOD IS AMAZING. This book was written for The Husband, The Wife and The Couple.
This is a MUST READ BOOK for anyone who wants a strong(er) marriage or is currently going through a rocky marriage or is holding on by a thread trying to avoid a divorce. It has definitely changed my life. I wish I had this book alongside my bible 17 years ago. It WILL CHANGE your life -I am not just saying it, I MEAN IT!
Book Review: Great Read Summary: 5 Stars
After reading Fireproof (great book!) I went out and bought Love Dare. I have only been married for 2 years , but found quickly in reading Love Dare that I have a lot to work on. It can be a bit overwhelming and after talking to a very dear friend of mine (Married 9 years) she felt the same way. How in the world can we work on so many things - most of them already habits in our everyday lives? We decided to pick ONE chapter at a time and work on that "Dare"- not for a day, but for as long as it takes. Once we have mastered that one, we will move on to another. So it may take months- possibly years to get it all done. But it will be rewarding along the way and can only "help" things not hurt them. This is a really great book. Would make a great wedding shower gift for any new couple just starting out. I bet most "old" married couples would have wished they got this a long time ago.
Book Review: I Dare You to Purchase The Love Dare! Summary: 5 Stars
My husband and I LOVE this book! Even though we have a great relationship, this book was still helpful. Some days it made us laugh. Other days it made us cry. It addresses many real issues that couples often ignore or procrastinate about addressing because it makes them uncomfortable to discuss certain topics.
I highly recommend this book. I also recommend the Fireproof movie. Just think, this book was only a fiction part of the movie but so many people called to request a copy that they had to write the book. God is so magnificent. This "accidental" book has been a blessing to the writers and to the world.
I thank God daily that he led us to The Love Dare.

Book Review: The Love Dare Summary: 5 Stars
This is not only a great book for married couples but also for parents who struggle with parent/child relationships. We did "Day One Activity" on my 11 yr. old daughter and it was amazing the amount of conflict that was prevented. Of course, the parent will need to decide which activities are appropriate for their pre-teen to teenage child. The book has also helped my marriage out a lot. We each got a book and did the love dare with each other and recorded our own thoughts in our own books. I highly recommend watching the move if at all possible. This is not a movie for children or teenagers so get a baby sitter and make it a special date,it may change the way you relate to each other. For more help in raising children or with marriage issues I have found Focus on the Family to be a super resource. Enjoy the book and movie and your new found relationship with your spouse.
