Book Review: Great Challenges for Growing Your Marriage

The Love Dare
This book goes along with the movie, Fireproof, which has a Christian marriage theme. The book contains 40 days of Biblical topics and dares for each day. There is a topic, and a reading for each day which includes scripture, a dare, a place to check off when you complete the dare, and some questions about each dare.
An example--one day is about unconditional love, and the questions for that day ask if this is different than you have acted in the past and how the current results are different.
There are lines to write answers in the book. For a couple to do this, you probably each want to get your own book. If you are the only one in your marriage who would buy or do this, you can still do it and get a lot out of it.
I highly recommend this. It is a terrific way to make baby steps toward a better marriage by doing very simple, measurable actions.
Book Review: Valid for EVERY marriage & relationship

Even we benefited at 60-something & in second marriages. "The Love Dare" guides in any marriage relationship, regardless of the fire currently needing tending. It may not take the place of a marriage counselor for a severely struggling couple, but it's a start.
If you have no known problems, thank God for the blessing. Do the dare anyhow, and enjoy the assurance and knowledge of what is working and what may or may not be ahead in the future for you and your mate. It takes just minutes a day to start. BEWARE, it is like a snowball (or should I say, FIREBALL). The more dares you dare to activate with your spouse, the more time you'll likely want to spend doing them. And the more time you'll be enjoying talking with and sacrificing for your loved one.
Only time will tell how large a percentage of "saved relationships" will result from "The Love Dare." You don't have to watch "Fireproof", the movie, to use this book. But the movie is 5-star also. GET THIS BOOK. Is your spouse worth it? Mine is!

This book is to be used as a tool to help you learn about yourself, your spouse and the love of God. The concepts and principles discussed here can be used in other relationships as well, such as with your children, family and close friends. You go on a 40-day journey with practical steps that you need to do each day for your loved one. The steps are great, but the best part is the reading that you do each day. You learn so much about yourself and the love of God that you can't help but change the way you see life. And that, in turn, changes everything around you. This book is NOT just for marriages or relationships that are "in trouble". It is for everyone who wants to learn how to strengthen their bond with their partner. I can't get enough of Stephen and Alex Kendrick! They have brought us some awesome stuff that I hope they continue to do. If you haven't seen the movie "Fireproof", make sure you do! Also, be sure to catch "Facing The Giants" and "Flywheel" - all awesome movies from the Kendrick brothers!Book Review: Great reference for couples!

Well, I havent read the book yet, but I am anticipating to be thoroughly pleased. I have only skimmed thru it and found many phrases of wisdom. I can see this book being a beneficial resource for couples & a reminder that love takes work. Love is not always candy & roses.... It's a decision. The Amazon seller delivered item in perfect condition with speedy arrival. Thanks for the good experience!
UPDATE: I have started reading this book, and I am very pleased that I own it! I have started the Love Dare up to Day 6 so far. My marriage is not in shambles, but I just want to take steps to constantly practive love. They say a good relationship always takes work. Sometimes in today's society, we get so caught up with life, that we tend to be selfish. This book shows you ways to be unselfish & re-teaches you the things you probably used to do in the beginning of your relationship. Love is patient, and this book really shows you that. But with effort, I think you will see results. God bless!
Book Review: Best book I've ever read after the Bible

This book changed my life. It made me see things in another perspective helped me to learn what true love is really about, is not a tingly feeling or butterflies in your stomach. But it's deeper than that, it shows that love is not based on feelings because feelings can change, but love, true love is unconditional and regardless of the circumstances and emotions, love stays the same. When love loves, it gives without expecting anything in return, when you truly love someone you want what's best for them even when they don't want what's best for you. That's love. And you can only find that in God. And this book truly highlights how this can only be done through God.
This doesn't only have to apply to marriages, this book is about walking in love and can be applied to everyone. I'm not married yet but I applied it to my child, to my co-workers, everyone around me and has changed my life significantly for the better. It's based on God's Word, His Truth and the Truth does make you free.
