A fresh, untrodden path like no other! Picturesque language paints a vision of North Wales second only to an actual passport check off! Gwynne, AKA Miss Davis (and I suspect AKA Miss P), sets in motion a trek for Alec to Mount Cadair Idris. Gwynne battled breast cancer which later metastasized to her brain. Alec, her ex husband, returned to her side and lovingly journeyed with her unto her final breath. Their love had not been perfect, evidenced by divorce. Their love was true, evidenced by taking Gwynne's final journey together. Alec begins the journey to honor her wish. He is to scatter her ashes on a mountain top they once shared. On arrival, the Tan y Gadair B&B along with Cadair Idris become center stage. Characters evolve into Souls, leaving footprints on the readers heart. Fiona and David, proprietors of the farmhouse B&B, are bound together by David's chemically induced illness. Prior to his illness he invested years of placing unfair blame on Fiona. Along with his illness came violence toward Fiona. They seem to have married for convenience not passion. Staying together out of commitment and duty, not a shared love. Owen, Meaghan and even distasteful Gerald are among the characters that come together and present this beautiful, unforgettable story! Love changes life, life changes love, arranging and rearranging to find the right piece to fit the right time. When the time is right, Peace fits. I believe Gwynne's wish included a secret hope for Alec as he tackled Mount Cadair Idris. But Wait-there is more! April 13th is a chapter responsible for transforming unlucky, uncelebrated numerical 13 into an Oh So Lucky celebration of love!
