Book Reviews of The Little Prince

Book Review: Interesting Discoveries
Summary: 5 Stars

An 80 page book, that when you read for the first time you would think it is only a kids book. I have read this book at least 10 times now, and every time it teaches you something new about the little prince travels, his experience with the different planets, and people he meets.

The little prince adventues leave the bigest influence on the adults, and the way they look at life. He shows how people have changed so much, and how they have lost the value in seeing the beauty in the small things. Everything seems the same to them, and their actions demostrate that.

The little prince left his planet, to understand the people more, and to find the best rose he can ever find, after all the travelling he did, and the questions he asked, he discovered that being content and making the best of what he had is the right way to approach life, he just wished everybody saw it the same way.

If you never read any other book in your life, make sure you read this...

Book Review: The Little Prince
Summary: 5 Stars

When I first started to read this book I was wondering why I was reading this book for an Advanced Placement class. By the time I was finished I realized that this book is so deep I dont know if I will ever get the full meaning.
The book is good for children because of how it is written. The author tells about the little prince's adventures on different planets and on the earth. Its very imaginative and simple. Because of this, I didnt see the many underlying messages at first.
I dont want to spoil anything so lets just say that once I was done with this book I was a changed. It gave me new insights to the world around me that I had never thought about.
I came away fromt his book with on of the best feelings. I have never been so excited after a book, Im usually just thankful Im finally done. This book I actually want to read again.
This book is great for both chidren and adults.
I reccomend it to EVERYONE.

Book Review: One of the greatest children's books ever written. . .
Summary: 5 Stars

. . .and extremely profound for "grown-ups" as well.

Antoine De Saint-Exupery's timeless classic "The Little Prince" should be on the shelf of every child -- especially the homeschooled child -- in America. It teaches love, friendship, commitment, perseverence, etc. all with a wonderful dose of humor aided by the rich illustrations of the author.

The book is also useful for teaching children about the very real evils in the world: greed, hate, fear, etc. It also explores death in a serious yet incredibly tender way. Parents, get this book and read it with your children. You will never be sorry you did so.

(As a matter of personal preference, I prefer the older English-language translation to the recent re-do -- but that is a minor point.)

It is interesting to note that not long after writing this book, De Saint-Exupery was himself lost in a plane over the Sahara. Neither he nor his plane were ever recovered.

Book Review: The Little Prince of Great Spirit +++
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had several copies of "The Little Prince" in several editions and languages. After several readings and reflections -- I see that this little work is one of the best in the World for primary spiritual wisdom. That it not only teaches Gentleness and Empathy -- but that typical limiting-blockages to spiritual-extension are covered well by the "typical human types" encountered by "The Little Prince" in his journey across "outer space". Other concerns [like fear and mortality] are covered well as well as can be. All of this via playful graceful poetic prose aided by playful yet expressive pictures by the author. It is also a fun way to learn other languages via side-by-side comparison of this work in different languages. "The Little Prince" is a fun way to increase in wisdom upon each reading and reflection. It does beg the question of just how the author got such Sufi-like Inspiration to create this Gem of Grace +++

Book Review: A Book to Read for a Lifetime
Summary: 5 Stars

This book gets 6 stars! Antoine de SaintExupery, though writing at a level at which children can comprehend the plot, delves deep into a social and psychological discussion regarding the human experience. He has a profound understanding of the way 'adults' (modern society) incorrectly view the world, its citizens, and what they have to offer. Lessons taught by this book range from personal relationships to business, touching on the subjects of guilt, greed, power, and love. While all of these topics are thoroughly discussed, you never feel as if you're being lectured or hit over the head with symbolism. So much is buried between the lines that one reading of this book will not suffice to gain the infinite wisdom it possesses. Read it as a coming-of-age story for society: once every few years for the rest of your life. This simple, 96 page story about a little boy speaks volumes louder than you could imagine.
