Book Reviews of The Little Prince

Book Review: Simply the best children's book ever written
Summary: 5 Stars

I've only read this book once in my college library, but I plan to get buy it soon for keeps. Everything about this book is incredible... the atmosphere, the imagination, the wisdom, and how thought-provoking it is. I wish I could remember more about it. The book was so surreal it was hard to remember everything about it. It's the kind of book you could read over and over and still be in awe of every time.

I became curious about this book after I read the book "One Child" by Torey Hayden, a true story about a six-year-old girl named Sheila, in a class taught by Torey Hayden, who is troubled and abused (but not autistic like the official synopsis says), but turns out to be a genius. "The Little Prince" was her favorite book. One Child is my own favorite book of all time, and I am certain almost anybody who's read and liked "The Little Prince" will love "One Child".

Book Review: To all people who have given this book less then 5 stars
Summary: 5 Stars

It surprised me to see the number of people that had given a review for this book under five stars. In some cases they even were angered or offended by this simple, yet not simplistic story. To all of you angered by it, or who simply did not see the sheer brilliance and beauty in this book, I feel sorry for you. You are truly the people who are in the most desperate need of a true understanding of this book. The preface begins by stating the audience is intended to be children, or rather, adults who once were children. To all those angered by this book, remember, you too were once children. Return to a time a simplicity for the one hour required to read this book, and perhaps find what it is you've lost that would lead to a life which would allow for a misunderstanding to occur as to what this book has to offer. The book points out that it is never too late, remember this, and read the book again.

Book Review: A letter to his best friend
Summary: 5 Stars

I read this book as a child, as a high school student, and I still read it even now. The more I read, the more clearly it speaks to my soul and imaginations.

"TO LEON WERTH when he was a little boy." During the WWII, Saint-Exupery was in the United States, and his best friend Werth, jewish, was in France where he would be killed by Nazis any moment. Saint-Exupery was concerned about his friend and wrote The Little Prince as a message for his friend, as well as for the people who suffered the war. Beyond this story, there is the author's faith in his frindship: its hope and its encouragement.

As we lose our youth, we also tend to lose vivid imaginations and innocence. We often fail to notice what is truly important to our lives. The Little Prince is a beautiful book which helps us appreciate things around us more and realize that this world is infinitily hopeful.

Book Review: insightful & heartfelt
Summary: 5 Stars

The little prince has always been one of my most favorite books of all time. Since I first read it in college, I always reccomend it to people I like and admire. The little prince is a story of the little prince; he lived on a little asteriod by himself surrounded by volcanoes, a goat, a tree that can grow really big, and his rose. He then took a trek that would take him all over, seeing old folks along the way. such insights leave us to think where we stand in this world, and in a way, also find ourselves in the process. For some this book would offer a wake up call of sorts. Others will see it as just another story that was written for children. All in all it boils down to the simple fact... "what is essential is invisible to the eye, it is only with the heart that we can see clearly"

Book Review: An inspiration to many adults
Summary: 5 Stars

I had heard that that this book was not really for children though they sell it in the childrens section of selections... Adults that read this realize that it was designed for the more settled mature readers....but a very wonderful inspiration to all that reads it ...I do wonder who determined that this was a juvinile book, People tend to be very narrow minded when it comes to titles and illustrations...I believe that this book has been designated in correctly and would definately be a good book to be re evaluated by the ones who rate and decide the age group of whom it was intended...Please read the other many reviews on the book especially one from the intelligent 12 year old...he said it plain and simple this is not really a childs book...but he loved it anyways...Thank You for your time..
