The Life You Imagine by Derek Jeter and Jack Curry starts with 8-year-old Derek Jeter dreaming about playing baseball with the New York Yankees. It gives the 10 steps he followed to achieve his dream, and explains how anyone can use these steps to become successful.
Derek Jeter is currently the starting shortstop for the New York Yankees. He is a dedicated, hardworking athlete and an amazing role model in the community. He is very involved in his family and believes the values his parents raised him with are the reason for his success. He was raised in Kalamazoo, a small town in southern Michigan.
When he was growing up, he had racial problems with some of the kids is his small town. This was a big deal for all of his family, and he and his sister were often fighting with some of the other kids in town. Racial issues were, and still are, a huge problem in his life.
As a role model, Derek felt the need to contribute to the community, so he started a foundation called Turn 2 that helps prevent drug and alcohol abuse in kids. They have a yearly banquet to raise money. His dad is a huge helping planning fundraisers, and both him and his dad put in a lot of time and hard work to make these yearly events perfect. You have to respect all of the hard work done for others and know that he is doing this without self-benefit.
By reading this story, you should know that Derek Jeter is someone who should be respected for all of his hard work and dedication to doing something he loves. This is a true story about a professional athlete who strived for his dreams and achieved them.
This story is very adamant about setting your goals and setting them high. Derek's philosophy is that if you set your goals high, that makes you push yourself harder in pursuit of reaching them. After you reach these goals, you have to set newer, even higher ones. I believe in his theory and I have tried to live my life following his lead. I liked this story a lot and it had a big impact on me.
