Book Reviews of The Lazy Crossdresser

Book Review: Entertaining Practical Guide to Expressing Feminine Self
Summary: 4 Stars

I found this book to be a very entertaining, carefree and useful guide to Expressing the Feminine Self. Most guys refuse to admit the have a "feminine side," so I respect the author for "coming out" with this truly fun and practical guide for those who feel the need or desire to express their feminine nature--in public, as well as in private.

The author explains the intricacies and dilemmas of "crossing" and gives numerous tips for self-confidence, self-improvement, beauty tips, and covers issues relating to stubble; beard growth, et al. These tips could be used by non-cross-dressers, as well. Very few people actually like stubble (about 1% of the people I have met)--especially facial stubble, so the tips in this book can be used even by "macho" guys, to improve their "Cuddle Time."

For those with an open mind, this book is very interesting, entertaining and provides numerous website references (copyright 2002, so it is up-to-date) and ideas to try.

If you are looking for a book about the psychological implications of this subject, look elsewhere--this author understands that it is "normal" to experiment with gender & sexuality, so there is no need to defend his stance on the issues. The author seems to have a very carefree "take me as I am" point of view.

It is very refreshing to read a book about the subject, which doesn't concentrate on Society's negative (uneducated) prejudice against "Alternative" lifestyles.

Book Review: Good but not for everyone
Summary: 4 Stars

This was a good book to help me out of the closet and onto my college campus (and even into some of my classes) Since reading and actively using Anders advice many of my friends have commented on how "realistic" I am starting to look! It is unfortunately though not for those whose ultimate goal is passing as it is simply for the "casual cross dresser". Anders suggests wearing clothes casually and even says he rarely uses breast forms. I tried his laid back method integrating small aspects of femininity into my daily wardrobe, a foxy t-shirt here, a pair of stretch flare denim jeans there, but it wasn't enough and my friends found it confusing (I have since decided that I can not live with out my breast forms). This casual method works for some but not for all, so if that's who you are this is a great book, if passing your only goal I would not necessarily suggest it.

Book Review: The Lazy Croos Dresser really isn't Lazy, is She?
Summary: 4 Stars

This is an excellent manual for cross dressing, but I think "lazy" is a gross understatement of all that the author suggests.

Just about all of the suggestions (tips?) are very worthwhile, however.

Somehow, I thought that the "lazy" crossdresser just put on a wig, some lipstick, and hit the town!! Obviously, there's a lot more to it than that, and I found most of the items to be very worth while. One wouldn't last very long with just the wig and lipstick.

I found the book very worthwhile and useful, and recomend it to all crossdressers to refer to before going out dressed.

It was an excellent "training manual".

Book Review: Interesting and relevant
Summary: 4 Stars

More appropriate title could have been... "How to crossdress in 10 Minutes..." or so..!!!

This book actually is like Memoirs of the author and his own techniques and tools to crossdress without much of fuss and hassle.

The book does provide few good tips and in certain places it becomes a guide telling you the options you have to do a specific thing.

Overall, interesting and good to read.. while the title could have been more relevant.. I feel any crossdresser given an opportunity is most active and happy to dressup instead of feeling lazy about it..

Recommended but not to be taken very seriously.

Book Review: Good, but not for me
Summary: 4 Stars

I enjoyed this book, but it's not what I was expecting. This is the first book I've bought about crossdressing. I have been dressing now for several years, and figured I would step it up a bit. Some of the advice was good, but some of it clashed with what I've found worked for me. I don't quite agree with the Author's perspective about how to dress, but found a lot of the tips very useful (especially the shopping tips). All in all, this is a good book, but not exactly what I was looking for.
