Book Reviews of The Late Great U.S.A.: The Coming Merger With Mexico and CanadaBook Review: Late, Great Not For the Politically Faint-of-Heart Summary: 5 StarsAn incredible book with page after page of easy-read facts n' figures and maps about the upcoming demise of the USA. Engaging. Informative.
We've heard plenty of doom-themes before, but nothing like this. In a new slant, author Jerome Corsi tackles on-going "secret" plans of the USA, Mexico and Canada ...plans for building a "North American Union," designed to combine the three into a world-class economic fortress. Now, the author doesn't use "secret" in the way Art Bell might in his after-hours radio shows whenever investigating conspiracy theory. Instead, Corsi's "secret" describes how the public, the media, the Congress have all been intentionally locked out from any knowledge of high-level government/ corporate negotiations bent on putting together something quite like the current European Union...complete with the "Amero," a new North American money unit; huge, new cross-America NAFTA transportation highways; wide open borders, and even a Mexican-owned, Mexican-government-operated vehicle/cargo customs "checkpoint" in/near Kansas City...on "Mexican land" forged right into the middle of the USA.
The author summarizes these unfolding plans for a project that's said to have begun in the '90s. Never heard of this? Nor I. --Matter of fact, The Late, Great USA is the first book this reader's come across on the subject, although Corsi mentions a couple of other authors who've previously wrote on it. It's definitively hard to refute his thesis. [After all, what information have we got to compare it with?] He's written in such a fascinating, credible way, the book is compelling and often a little scary. He says, as the USA diminishes its economic self, we can expect
on-going higher prices, many more illegals, additional unemployment as lots more American jobs are shipped out of the country to places where wages are on the dirt end of the scale. This is even before the proposed Trans-Texas Transportation Corridor blooms away from Houston and past Dallas into a giant 8-laner that'll stretch up past Illinois, somewhere around Mt. Rushmore, on through Canada and into Alaska. It's all in the plan....
So who benefits from this decades-in-the-making, multi-trillion-dollar USA make-over? Says the author, mainly China. Then Mexico. Corsi's got a good case for claiming the United States already plays 2nd-fiddle to the economic pressures of China...but expect our money woes only to deepen if this North American Union actually takes off. As we continue our cozy habits of buying our cheap goods at Target and Walmart, the Chinese government has bigger plans (for us?). He says we need to wake-up to the inherent dangers of emulating the EU. --And he offers scores of eye-opening economic red flags for us to ponder. Indeed, Corsi's not happy about the secretive "NAU" planning that's been going on for years. It's got to stop, he demands: open it up. Let's see what it's really all about....
--And he wants to know about lacking Congressional oversight on a project so encompassing as an economic/social melding of three neighboring countries. Congress has pretty much been silent on the matter. The media haven't reported on it. Presidential candidates have ignored it. Most of us have never heard of it. Until now.
If just 10% of this "Wow!" book is on the mark, we still ought to be concerned about our country's future. --But, cover to cover, it looks pretty much to be based in fact...and definitely helps our future seem almost hopeless. Written like a interesting historical document, with a bundle of footnotes, its descriptions, accounts and chronologies appear all too real to be just a lot of hapless opinion, fluff and fiction.
The Late, Great USA is an interesting work that dismays and occasionally disheartens. Still, readers should hold some reservations on its doom-filled messages 'till we hear more from "the other side." Even so, here's a good NAU primer for every Congressman, every talk-show host, CEO, voter, blue-collar worker, teacher, student, stay-at-home, and newsperson in the country. Although he doesn't actually say it, maybe all is not spiraling out of our control...as Corsi ends up with a few useful conclusions/suggestions for us. [For starters, he advises we've got to end our participation in NAFTA. Now. --And outlines reasons why.] If we slow/reverse the direction of the all-secret, tri-part planning, the author suggests, we might avert our becoming "the late USA," which, by many accounts, does seem to be our current destiny.
Summary of The Late Great U.S.A.: The Coming Merger With Mexico and CanadaIn the New York Times bestseller The Late Great USA: The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada, Jerome Corsi proves that the benignly-named "Security and Prosperity Partnership," created at a meeting between George W. Bush, Stephen Harper and Vincente Fox, is in fact the same kind of regional integration plan that led Europe to form the EU. According to Corsi, the elites in Europe who wanted to create a European nation knew that "it would be necessary to conceal from the peoples of Europe just what was being done in their name until the process was so far advanced that it had become irreversible." Could the same thing be happening here? Is American sovereignty doomed? Using dozens of documents secured through the Freedom of Information Act and his trademark hard-hitting interviews, Jerome Corsi sets out a chilling view of America's possible "harmonized" future -- one being created covertly, without voter input or Congressional oversight. Could our government's unfathomable position on illegal immigration be tied to the prospect of an integrated North American Union?
