Book Reviews of The Last WishBook Review: A very enjoyable read Summary: 5 Stars
This book has more emotional depth, and maturity than most in this genre. It ties in a lot of children's stories, Snow White, etc, and provides an adult perspective on them. Stimulating and engrossing. Like Lord of the Rings, it has a dark edge, set in a time where the old world is fast disappearing. One of the best books I have read in a long time.
Book Review: Devourable Fantasy - a fast fun read Summary: 5 Stars
Good stuff here.. I haven't been so entertained by a "fantasy" novel in years. I've already bought and given away several copies to friends. Mind you, it may not be terribly deep or intellectual... but it's a ton of fun.
Fans of Moorcock's "Elric" anti-hero and David Gemmell's "Skilgannon the Damned" should pick this up immediately.
Book Review: Easy quick read, very enjoyable Summary: 5 Stars
I first heard of this book when reading a review for a video game based on the book and decided to give it a try. I found the book to be very engrossing. It reminded me of reading those Conan novels when I was growing up!!! Give him a try, I know I can't wait for more of his books to come to the US.
Book Review: Played game 1st... Summary: 5 Stars
If you are a fan of the game, buy this book! If you are a fan of the book, buy the game!! Either way you cannot lose. Sapkowski twisted some stories around like; Beauty and the Beast & Snow White and made them in flavor for adult Fantasy readers. Highly recommended!!
Book Review: The Last Wish Summary: 5 Stars
Loved the PC game The Witcher so wanted to read the books. The Last Wish is great. Laughed out loud in some spots. Sapkowski's humor is exceptional. Very realistic. Not your typical fantasy type book. Can't wait until the other books are translated into English.
