Book Review: A very enjoyable read

This book has more emotional depth, and maturity than most in this genre. It ties in a lot of children's stories, Snow White, etc, and provides an adult perspective on them. Stimulating and engrossing. Like Lord of the Rings, it has a dark edge, set in a time where the old world is fast disappearing. Good stuff here.. I haven't been so entertained by a "fantasy" novel in years. I've already bought and given away several copies to friends. Mind you, it may not be terribly deep or intellectual... but it's a ton of fun.
Fans of Moorcock's "Elric" anti-hero and David Gemmell's "Skilgannon the Damned" should pick this up immediately.

Loved the PC game The Witcher so wanted to read the books. The Last Wish is great. Laughed out loud in some spots. Sapkowski's humor is exceptional. Very realistic. Not your typical fantasy type book. Can't wait until the other books are translated into English.
