Book Reviews of The Last WishBook Review: Introducing the Witcher Summary: 5 Stars
In brief, I first played the PC game called the Witcher and so enjoyed it that when I read the credits after completing the game and saw that it was based on a series of books, I immediately went to Amazon and baught a copy. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey that the author took me through and do not believe that I was swayed in the slightest by my experience with the PC game. In other words, it was a great read and I recommend it highly.
Book Review: Seldom Ever Summary: 5 Stars
Seldom ever do you accidentally find such a literary gem as "The Last Wish". It's like walking a dusty path and kicking up a raw diamond.
Sapkowski has "story-telling" genius plus a well-seeded imagination.
If you don't use some control you could finish this book in one sitting, you will not be bored, you will anticipate the next page, every page.
Only true monster lovers would disagree with my assessment!
Book Review: Last Wish Summary: 5 Stars
I also, came by the book after playing the game. I really enjoyed the game but, I enjoyed the book more. I will first say I am not a book reader I own probably 10 books and 324 video games. I found that it is much more enjoyable in writing than in playing the game. Sapkowski is masterful in his descriptions of the monsters. I just overall really enjoy reading it, and would give it a very high recommendation.
Book Review: Great fantasy book Summary: 5 Stars
The Last Wish is absolutely great; an entire world that is very easy to get sucked into. Although it is supposed to be a collection of short stories, and it is, there is a running plotline throughout the whole thing that allows it more flow than other short story collections.
Admittedly, though, the experience was much more enhanced when I played The Witcher, the computer game based on this book.
Book Review: Best Fantasy Writer Period! Summary: 5 Stars
Truth be told this is the best book I've read in years. Unlike Tolkien's world this is a world of grays not black and whites. A grand point is made concerning the lesser of two evils and the point made is that it is not a choice at all. Wonderful descriptions and depictions without becoming cliche .. my only wish is that all of his books were translated into English.
