Book Review: The best novel about Tasmanian Tigers that I have read
Summary: 5 Stars
The Last Thylacine is a well written and engaging story. The characters are believable and the plot is engaging. Basically it involves a man who sees a Tas. Tiger and make a report. This leads to the loss of his job. He then organizes an effort to find proof of the Tas. Tiger's continued existence. His associates are interesting and there are many plot twists that are unique and well done. The book includes a glossary of "Aussie" terms to help in understanding the dialogue. I did not need to refer to that section, but it would be helpful for some who are not familiar with some of the slang from downunder.
Overall the book is a good read and to say more about the plot and outsmoe would be to spoil your reading. So just enjoy this book, and let us all hope that it is not The Last Thylacine.
Summary of The Last Thylacine
Historical Fiction: Outdoor Adventure/Nature The Thylacine was the largest marsupial predator in human history. Unfortunately, like most wild animals that develop a taste for domestic stock, they were mercilessly trapped and hunted by stockmen and farmers. The species was finally declared extinct in 1936 when the only captive Thylacine in the world died at Tasmania's Hobart Zoo. Since then, there have been a string of mysterious sightings of this animal. However, not one of these encounters has ever been confirmed by wildlife authorities. Until now... The Last Thylacine is the gripping tale of Matthew Clark, a field biologist who actually beholds this supposedly extinct animal. Matthew reports the sighting to his employer and through an awkward set of circumstances he is fire from his job. This is only the beginning of Matthew's great ordeal.
