Book Review: Gives you appreciation for those who protect the wilderness

Randy Morgensen may have been a very different person then you or I, but if you appreciate great storytelling against a beautiful Sierra backdrop then you will love this story. Eric Blehm draws the reader in with flashbacks of Randy's life and the search for this missing legend that keeps the reader very involved. The final climax leaves you with more unanswered questions about what really happened but still makes you feel like you have been there with these individuals along the way. What a fantastic book! I read at night before I go to bed. This was one of those books I could have called in sick to work for, just so I could keep reading it. Eric Blehm has done a terrific job of bringing you to the scene of the events. Easy to read and follow and an amazing story to tell. This is a soon to be classic and easily joins books like Cache Lake Country and One Man's Wilderness (Richard Proenneke). The book is an excellent story about one person's love for the Sierra and the special wilderness areas of the National Parks. Eric Blehm has told a page-turning story of an amazingly overlooked, dedicated back country wilderness ranger that takes place in some of the most amazing wilderness in the world. I finished it and I wanted more. I read everything and didn't want to stop. Perfect! If you enjoy the high Sierra and know the terrain, you will be enthralled.Book Review: Great Adventure Story

Loved this book!!! A true story of a unique character in the vien of Thoreau--someone who loved and wanted to protect the wilderness. The author goes into incredible and interesting detail about his background and relationships. Plus you learn alot about the mountains where he was a ranger, and all about the ranger life.
