Book Review: The Last Olympian
Summary: 5 Stars
I thought the book The Last Olympian was a great book because it had a lot of action. When Percy and all of the half bloods went to New York City to defend Olympus from Kronos a huge war broke out between the half bloods and all the under world monsters. The war lasted for multiple days and was very exciting. Also there was a lot of action when Percy and his friend sneaked aboard one of Kronos's ships to try to stop it from getting to Olympus. They got caught setting bombs in the lower part of the ship. The action continued when they got in a battle with monsters. Percy even fought Kronos on the ship! When these parts happened in the book I could not stop reading. The detail in the action parts made the book extremely exciting, and easy to visualize in my head. The detailed action made this book amazing.
Another reason I liked the book is because it takes place in present day even though it is about ancient Greece. The characters use modern things like cell phones. When they are in New York City they need some way to communicate so they use cell phones like we would. Since it takes place in modern times it makes the book easier to understand. This made this book better and more exciting to read. Another example is the location of Olympus. Instead of Olympus being in Greece, it is on the top floor of the Empire State Building. Modern things made the book easier to follow and a bit funny.
I would give the book five out of five stars for its action and exciting story board. The story is very descriptive and easy to visualize. It was my favorite book series ever. I would recommend it to teens and kids who love exciting action books.
