Book Reviews of The Last Chinese Chef: A Novel

Book Review: A Delicious Exploration of the Chinese Culture and Cuisine
Summary: 5 Stars

I love to read about food! I love a good story! I love to learn about other cultures! I found all of these covered exquisitely in this wonderful book. The writing is excellent and the story pulls the reader forward and craving for some really fine Chinese food. Book Review: The Last Chinese Chef
Summary: 5 Stars

This book is a wonderfully entertaining read. My book group read it, and all really enjoyed it. I was particularly enchanted by the descriptions of food, and the culture which produced it. The references to historic times were very interesting, as well as the relationship the chef had with his uncles. I found this to be a most sympathetic portrayal of Chinese culture. The main character was also well portrayed, although I sometimes found her angst to be a bit tedious.

Book Review: BloG REVIEW AT COOKING WITH IDEAS
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this. I don;t usually review just food fiction - when it is fiction it is usually a murder mystery and when it is not it is nonfiction on food OR a cookbook. So . . . this is a great read. For the full review at Cooking with Ideas, here's the url [...]

Book Review: I loved this book
Summary: 5 Stars

We spent 3 months in China and HK in 1995 with out 2 teenagers. Travelling around by local trains, no tours and guides for us. I loved China in 1995. Wonder what it's like now. I love authentic Chinese food and this is a nice way to get an "education".

Book Review: a feastful read
Summary: 5 Stars

I really enjoied the story, but most of all i enjoyed the insight regarding chinese traditional cuisine. This book made me want to visit China.
