Book Review: Clearing misconceptions

This drama goes past the newscasts and explains more in depth how the Laramie community was affected by this tragedy. Rather than portraying a bunch of "hicks" who were perceived as not caring by the media when the murder occurred, this book explains how most of the citizens of Laramie were affected. This is great in that it goes beyond the murder and looks into the aftermath and how the town was changed by the life and death of one special young man.Book Review: The Laramie Project is GENIUS!

I was surprised when I read The Laramie Project; I felt such a wide range of emotions -- fear, grief, outrage, hope. I met unexpected heroes and villains who are all too human. I had never seen this play, so I responded to it as text ... and found it to be brilliant. I am now writing lesson plans to teach this play to my senior high school students. Like all great literature, The Laramie Project is about our shared humanity.Book Review: And Still Nothing Is Changed

I read this book and still have a hard time believing nothing has changed since this killing has taken place. If you say you are not homophobic than read this book and you will find that we all are in one way or another. Maybe not as bad as those involved in the killing but we are all a little. I believe this book and the DVD of the same name should be required reading in all Middle and High Schools.
Book Review: A powerful work

I haven't actually read the play, but I just returned from seeing it performed at my daughter's high school. It is a powerful and moving drama, creatively staged with each actor playing a multitude of parts. Nevertheless, the flow is clear, the progression of the story is evident and the powerful emotions build throughout the play. By the final act, I was in tears.It is masterful, don't miss seeing it.

My closing night for this play was last night and it was amazing. Playing these character's and watching the audience respond and feeling their energy was amazing. This is a terrific story and very well done. The reactions of the townspeople is so true and you just flow with the story.
