I am involved in a read-aloud program with preschool children. Although the facilities where I volunteer supply some books, I find that the children's appetites for books are voracious and I have been supplementing with books from when our children were young and ordering a few online. This book is too small in size, it is difficult to use because children cannot see the pictures very well from a distance (we are, of course, not allowed to hold the children). The story centers around a frog, but concludes suddenly with the frog's death on the final page as he is consumed by a fish. The author offers no message or moral from this and I couldn't either. It's a fine lesson in the food chain, but it made my kids cry and I won't use it again.Book Review: Good book but very small size and overpriced on Amazon

The book itself is very good, but I was shocked to find out it is only about 5 inches square. At $12 on Amazon.com, it's overpriced by about $7. The list price is actually $4.95 and you can find it at Barnes and Noble for that price. DON'T PAY $12 + S/H FOR THIS BOOK!Book Review: Cute, but tongue fell off first day

"Santa" gave this to my 3-year-old boy for Christmas. That same day, I was picking up toys before bedtime, and found this strange red rubbery thing on the floor. Oops, the tongue had already come off the book. Cute story, but not durable enough!
