Book Reviews of The HobbitBook Review: Well written fantasy Summary: 5 Stars
I'd been given a set of four Tolkein paperback books, The Hobbit and the Trilogy of the Rings, many years ago. I purchased this hardbound edition of The Hobbit so as to enjoy the story again in a more desirable format. I am very pleased with the quality of the book binding, paper, and the inclusion of many of Tolkein's own drawings that are to be found in the appropriate places throughout.
Book Review: A classic everyone should read Summary: 5 Stars
Tolkien's "Hobbit" is a classic fantasy tale that everyone should read at some point. Bilbo Baggin's adventures take the reader through enchanted forests and moutntains, meeting dwarves, elves, wargs, and other strange creatures along the way. I read this as a kid and just finished rereading it, and it's as much fun the second time around. Now where can I buy one of those magic rings?
Book Review: The Hobbit Summary: 5 Stars
I can't believe at my age I had never read this book. I would recommend this book to readers of any age and genres. My only reference to these amazing characters was through film. The films don't do justice to Tolkien's mastery. Due to this book I have now purchased The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Silmarillion. This book will be an added classic to your bookshelf!
Book Review: Terrific Anniversary Edition of a great classic Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this book along the 50th anniversary edition LOTR books and we were not dissapointed - the illustrations are all in glossy paper and some in colour the way Tolkien wanted them, it is a collectors edition highly recommended for those who love Tolkien's work and are keen to get a head start of the upcoming"The Hobbit" and "The Hobbit: Sequel" movies out soon!
Book Review: classic Summary: 5 Stars
Firstly book was mailed quickly and in excellent condition.
Tolkien's classic is just as funny and entertaining as ever. My 14 year old son is reading it for the first time, and is really enjoying it. With the Hobbit movie reportedly coming out in 2011, it is a great family idea to to order it now, read it over the year, and then see the movie.
