Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the best fantasy series ever written. Reading originals is so much more gratifying than movies.
It covers the whole gamut of emotions and is action from start to finish with good triumphing over evil, while being clean all the way through.
There's never a dull moment, although the first time I read it 30 years ago, it did take me several starts to get into the swing of the book # 1.

This four volume, deluxe paperback boxed set contains J.R.R. Tolkien's epic masterworks THE HOBBIT and the three volumes of THE LORD OF THE RINGS (THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING, THE TWO TOWERS, and THE RETURN OF THE KING) in their definitive text settings complete with maps and cover illustrations by the celebrated artist Alan Lee. In THE HOBBIT, Bilbo Baggins is whisked away from his comfortable, unambitious life in Hobbiton by the wizard Gandalf and a company of dwarves.
