Book Reviews of The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching: Transforming Suffering into Peace, Joy, and LiberationBook Review: Great Introduction to Buddhism Summary: 5 Stars
This book covers the essential teachings of the Buddha. It discusses what exactly terms like "Right Views" mean. It is a must-have book for anyone interested in learning about Buddhism. It covers the noble eightfold path, the four truths, the three jewels, the four immeasurable minds, and much more. It is no doubt one of the best sources for learning about practical Buddhism.
Book Review: Practical help for a mindful life Summary: 5 Stars
Buddhist philosophy is interesting and appealing but practicing Buddhism, even in the most basic way, is liberating. Thich Nhat Hanh transforms philosophy into accessible tools to live a more mindful life beginning right now. His explanation of the Buddha's teaching is charming and encouraging. Just reading this book makes one feel peaceful. I will read it again and again.
Book Review: Nice Read Summary: 5 Stars
This is, I believe, the second or third book I read by Thich Nhat Hanh. "Living Buddha, Living Christ" sort of inspired me to pick this up. He gives the basics as to what this whole Buddhism thing is all about. His explanation is neither too simplified nor to technical for the "average reader". If you pick up one book on the teachings of Buddha, make it this one.
Book Review: A beautiful introduction to buddhism Summary: 5 Stars
This book covers all the basics in a poetic, breathtaking style. The heart of the Buddha's teaching was my introduction to Buddhism. I return to this book over and over again for guidance. This book is so easy to read. It is not preachy and dry like some of the other books that I have read on Buddhism. I reccomend any book written by Thich Nhat Hanh.
Book Review: Fabulous! Summary: 5 Stars
I can never say enough good things about the writings of Thich Nhat Hanh, and this is no exception. This is a wonderful fabulous book that will speak directly to your heart. His teachings and writings are a treasure, whether one is Buddhist or not. One of my all time favorite authors, we are blessed to have his writings.
