Book Reviews of The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching: Transforming Suffering into Peace, Joy, and LiberationBook Review: A good book that makes you think Summary: 5 Stars
This, like all spiritual books, must be applied. If one is to sit down and read this book from cover to cover and move on to his or her next book, it was a waste of time. What makes this book so great is how simple and applicable it is. It is divided into parts. After each part, pause and start to implement the practices. Then reading this book will become a very rewarding experience for any reader looking for help living a better life.
Book Review: wow Summary: 5 Stars
its like opening your eyes with a clarity you could not even conceive of previously. The writing style is so simple, and makes the book and absolute joy to read. The metaphors and analogies are highly thought provoking - and immediatly practical. when you understand a concept, you look at everything differently...and in many cases, for the first time. Thich Nhat Hanh is da man! dont think, just get it. think after you get it. :)
Book Review: A master of compassionate mindfulness practice Summary: 5 Stars
Mindfulness practice is a path in which every step is a step of compassionate engagement with every aspect of your experience, whether walking, talking with a friend or working with the suffering and anguish that exists in our minds. Thich Nhat Hanh teaches us how to smile at every encounter with reality. I also recommend' The Path of Mindfulness Meditation' by Dr Peter Strong, an in-depth exploration of mindfulness meditation.
Book Review: Beautifully Written Summary: 5 Stars
I was exploring Buddhism tentatively when I came across this book. It is written in the style of a master teacher and is an excellent introduction to those seeking to understand the core concepts of Buddhism. Thanks to this book, I now feel that I possess enough background knowledge to more thoughtfully pursue my studies.
Thich Nhat Hanh does a wonderful job of relating the teachings to our daily lives.
Book Review: Review of Thich Nhat Hanh's book on Buddha's Teaching Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for an overall review of the teaching of the Buddha. I have been practicing these teachings for 10 years and have been teaching for 8 years, and I found the book easy to comprehend and a very good review at an intermediate level. I use the book as a text for my current series of talks on the Noble Eightfold Path. I highly recommend this book.
