Book Reviews of The GraysBook Review: Laughable Summary: 2 Stars
The book is fast-paced and interesting. That said, the characters came off as one-dimensional. The plot is ridiculous -- we're supposed to believe that a bunch of kidnapping monsters who torture their victims are here to "help" mankind? The government and military are portrayed as pure evil, coldly killing people left and right to maintain the conspirary. (How original.) The aliens are made out to be some sort of Machiavellian matchmakers in the mold of "Stefano" from "Days of our Lives." I had to laugh at when they set up an affair between a married man and his boss to accomplish their "goals." Overall entertaining but not in the way the author intended, I'm sure.
Book Review: Mediocre Summary: 2 Stars
The only reason I purchased this book was that it was suggested as a prequal to "2012". The two books have nothing to do with each other. It is written by Whitley Strieber who claims to be an alien abductee. There was so many muddled story lines they were to keep track of.
Book Review: Not so hot Summary: 2 Stars
I like Whitley's stuff. But this one wasn't his best. The parents talked like idiots and acted the fool. The kids were ho-hum and tedious. And in the end I couldn't keep any of them straight, nor did I really want to. I could care less.
Book Review: Made an Unbeliever Out of Me Summary: 1 Stars
This book started out good and got progressively worse. The author supposedly had an alien abduction experience himself, which led him to write books on the subject.
I have never fully believed in aliens. However, whenever the subject would come up, my mother always swore that when she was 16 y/o (which would have been in appx. 1970), she was walking through a field in the country when she looked up and saw a saucer-shaped ufo with lights all around it hoovering in the sky right above her. It scared her so bad she took off running. When she looked back, it was gone. Since I do believe that she did in fact have that experience, of course it led me to wonder about whether or not aliens could in fact exist.
I read this book thinking that, of all people, this particular author would have had the personal experiences, combined with years of fascination and research, to be able to write a novel with so many facts thrown in, that if anything could convince me that aliens are real...this would be it.
Wrong.
If I ever believed in aliens at all...I sure don't believe in them now.
The characters in the book are flat and uninteresting.
The writing becomes poor, as if the author started the book with enthusiasm and then finished it out of obligation.
It did move along at a fairly fast pace, which would normally be a good thing. But in this case, it meant many desired details were left out.
The grays were explained fairly well, but to the point that they became ridiculous, in my opinion.
I was so turned off to aliens by this book, that I gave away another alien-themed book that I had(and had not started reading yet)...and gave this one away along with it.
Book Review: Here We Go Again! Summary: 1 Stars
Here we go again! Another one of those: "The world is in trouble but the aliens (grays) are going to save us..."
Whitley Streiber is THE biggest shill for the grays-even worse than Steven Spielberg. If you want to know what the grays really are-read The Threat, by Dr. David Jacobs, Associate Professor of History at Temple University as well as University of Pennsylvania. Jacobs has a ton of credibility. What he has discovered IS scary, but it is even scarier that people believe Streiber's crap about the grays being here for the good of humans. Yes, there are good extra / ultra-terrestrials. But they do not mutilate animals-they do not abduct and torture humans. If it smells like a pile of crap it IS a pile of crap. The grays are not even conscious beings-they are robots standing in front of and doing the will of those who do not want to be seen. Read The Wave series by Laura Knight-Jadczyk. Read Bringers of the Dawn by Barbara Marciniak. Read Ra, The Law of One. Do not be deceived by the likes of Whitley Streiber. There is a time of decision coming. Do not be deceived into making the wrong one!
