Book Reviews of The Goodnight TrainBook Review: My grandsons' favorite book Summary: 5 Stars
Both of my grandsons love this book. I bought it for them this summer, as they love Thomas the Train. I was hesitant, as it was $16.99 at the time. It is worth every penny! My daughter reads to them every night and this quickly became their favorite book. They request Good Night Train every night before bed. The words are soothing and rhthymic, and the pictures are beautifully illustrated. My one grandson loves to point out the "baby tugboat" in every picture... This book is sure to become a classic and helps little eyes close with sweet dreams of choo choos sure to follow. I would give this more than 5 stars if possible!
Book Review: Beautiful Illustrations Summary: 5 Stars
My twin two-year-old sons love this book. They request it for story time before bed nearly every night. The illustrations are beautiful and so intricate that the boys find something new to look at every night. Some of the images are silly, like a pig dressed as a porter taking a bubble bath in a bath shaped train car. At first, I thought it wouldn't keep their attention because it was whimsical, but that seems to be exactly what they enjoy about it. There are enough recognizable images, such as sheep, tunnels, houses, and toothbrushes, that they spend time investigating each page. A fun and creative book.
Book Review: amazing bedtime book Summary: 5 Stars
My 2 year old and I love this book. The illustrations are whimsical and beautiful and the writing moves in a rhythmic pace. I like that I can just read the words for a quick read, but that there are also so many sweet details (the skunk is squirting the man with the hose! The squirrel in the tree is checking his fridge for a snack! where is the skunk on this page?) that you can really savor the book, too. Too bad the train isn't real- who wouldn't want to fall asleep tucked cozily into bed on a train rolling through the nighttime countryside?
Book Review: Fun choo choo Summary: 5 Stars
This is such a fun and whimsical book for kiddos who loves trains. My 2 yr old is obsessed with trains and frankly, I'm tired of Thomas all the time. It's such a nice change, it rhymes (which she loves rhyming books.) It's a fun adventure about the train rocking them to sleep. The artwork is colorful, fun and interesting as well. The only way this book could be better is if it's a board book so little curious hands can't rip it. This one is a hard cover with a paper slip cover which kiddos can rip as well as the pages.
Book Review: A consistent favorite Summary: 5 Stars
My son is 3 1/2 and still loves this book, even after we have read it for almost 2 years. He will have it as a favorite for a few weeks, then go back to it again weeks after that. The best thing about this book is, I still haven't gotten sick of reading it (over and over and over), which is great. The detail of the illustrations is amazing, and it has a wonderful rhythmic story. We have a lot of books and read every night to our kids, and this is definitely in my top three of his books for him and for me.
